23/04/24 - Super Compact - UK

I put the word out and I picked up another Super Compact today from a friend of a friend.

Now running a pair of Super Compacts. I also have a pair of One10's.

I love your cabinets, keep on doing what you do. Oh, and I love the videos you put up too.

Sure, this picture's blurry but the bass wasn't - it was big time punch and focused motherfuckin tight... second gig w/the super twin and super compact DOIN IT!

Many thanks Barefaced Team,

That Super Compact is incredible! I am sure it will only get better as the drive unit wears in!! Sounds great, lots of bass, clarity and more punch than Tyson Fury!!

Very impressed, it may even put my Super Twin away for certain pub gigs with its volume and range! As well as being so light!! Could do wonders for my fuel economy and in turn the environment 👍🤓

Thank you, and keep doing what you are doing! UK design and manufacturing rules!!

Kind Regards,

Chris H, 30Hz Low!!

Played at a club in Aylesbury this evening, as we were loading in I spotted a fellow Barefaced user loading into the pub next door. I was very grateful for the lightness of my Supertwin, as we were upstairs at our venue

22/04/24 - Super 3rdT - USA

Hi, I recently bought your Super 3rdT and love it! I'm looking to buy another cab and am torn between the BB3 or another Super 3rdT. I understand that these 2 cabs do not work well together, but my question is will a BB3 have close to the same output as 2 Super 3rd's?...and/or is the BB3 so much better tonally that's worth just carrying one as opposed to 2 Super 3rd's? Thanks!!

Mark

Alex says:

Hi Mark,
The max output of the BB3 and S3T is pretty much the same, and the BB3 is just a bit more accurate and goes a bit lower. Adding another Super 3rd T is definitely the way to go! Glad you're loving the first one - the stack will be epic!
Best regards,
Alex

I just got my Big Twin 3 today 😳😱 all I can say is wow! It is a Drummer and Leslie organ-rivalling monster! The loudest clearest most amazing machine I’ve ever had the privilege of playing through! And when my Big Baby 3 broke in it was a huge difference so I can’t wait to break in this behemoth! But even out the box - oh my goodness is it amazing ! (Barefaced fanboy for life Mr Alex and the team! ) thank y’all !

So I’ve had my big baby 3 now for probably over a year and there isn’t a piece of kit that I have been more pleased with. As a musician and a gear nut I am always finding little things that could be better with everything… except the Big Baby 3! Just when I think it can’t get louder or I’ll blow it, it does get louder and doesn’t distort at all!

I have a bb2 that I love. However some of the stages/rooms it comes off boomy. Is there anything I can do to mitigate the boom. Using an Ampeg PF 50 tube amp. No pedals.

Greg

Alex says:

Hi Greg,

I'm 99% certain that's the amp - tubes are like that, especially when you have that little power. Do you have a more powerful amp you can try?

Tried this rig out properly last night.
TBH, I had been a little disappointed during rehearsals. Not terrible, but just meh.
I was wrong. Last night was as loud a gig as I ever want to do without ear defenders. The rig easily kept up with a noisy guitarist and drummer, with loads left in the tank.
But here's the thing. All my feedback issues disappeared. I didn't need f-hole blockers or a nerf ball under the tailpiece, or a notch filter, or any of that stuff. I got a really nice, warm, clean double bass sound at a volume that would normally have been completely impossible.

The new BB3 got here in February. My 3 other cabs have moved on to new homes. Massive SPL for a 1x12. Keeps you on your toes as every flaw in your signal chain will be evident. Looking forward to the first live gig 😎

To say I’m impressed with BT2’s replacement would be an understatement. BT3 and I have been out to a number of different stage settings since I took delivery, garnering lots of comments and interest! Of course when it boils down to it, it’s the sound quality and its performance that matters: it is so consistent across the range and I’m definitely enjoying balanced ‘feel’ across the fretboard as there are no dips and peaks in response etc.

One reason I picked the BT3 over the Super Twin has nothing to do with sound - height. It's perfect music stand height. Trial ran it last night at a jam, and it was perfect for setting music that's close enough to your face that you can actually read it, notes, set lists, etc. It rolls on pavement like a dream, so I found it easier to schlep than the Aguilar SL112
