The Mini and Super Compact play nicely together.
Loud, deep and punchy

I have a Barefaced Audio Super Compact, a single 12 inch 600w cab, that weighs in at 11kg/24lb. The sound quality is better than my old 810 (and my back is better too) and it turns out more volume than I would ever want on stage. They're not the cheapest, but they are well worth the money and the quality and sound are second to none.

If/when I purchase a second Super Compact should I stack it on top, due to phase cancellation issues? I use my SC in “landscape mode” as I place my old Fender Bassman 135 head on top.
Tom

Hi Tom,
I'd stack the second on top - it's not so much phase cancellation as giving you better horizontal dispersion vs side by side. That'll be great with the Bassman! Hope the first is sounding good.

Alex

Received the speaker this morning.
Sound great at home. Looking forward to our next practise session in Monday.
Thanks again for chasing up the delivery time

Good Evening Barefaced Team,
Just a quick thanks to all the friendly team who took the Super Compact in, and changed the faulty drive unit to a shiny new 12XCN drive unit.
I have just tried it out and it sounds very clean, nice, efficient and how it should be. It is a pleasure to now play along to some older 70’s tracks without sounding like Napalm Death.
Joking aside super service, from a super team, in a 1 day turnaround!
Thank you once again.
Kind Regards,
Chris

I have Super Compact (no tweeter) and I love it.
I run it with a Fender Bassman 70 when it’s easy to load/unload or a Warwick Class D Head that is very light.
I need something light often as gigging is becoming increasingly difficult, access parking etc.

02/10/25 - Super Compact T - USA
Hi Alex,
I recently purchased your Super Compact T, which I am very pleased with its performance. Recently I sold my EA NL210 that was my extra cab for sound reinforcement. Now at the age of 79, I’ve realised that small and light is a must have to continue performing. I perform in a small and medium size theatre where there is front of house sound. What I want is a cab to pair with the SC cab. I read your statements on the One10T and the Super Mini T. Both appear to be excellent choices. I rehearse in a large rehearsal room, so my cab choice be a stand alone for rehearsals. Would the cab I have now, SC, be a better choice? Keeping in mind for performance purposes, I need to clearly hear myself, on stage, over Latin percussion battery and a horn section. To add more to the confusion in my head, I’m thinking my choice is the SMT. Any thoughts? Your recommendation will be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Is your SC the T version or not and how do you like the highs from it? The SM is a good smaller addition to make a modular three size rig!
Best regards,
Alex
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My SC is the T version. I do like the highs. If I understand you correctly adding the DM would make an equivalent to a BB 3. Thanks for your help. Does the SMT have a similar dynamic range as the SCT?
Hi Mark,
In that case add an SMT! The SMT+SCT stack will be very similar in tone and sonic performance to a Super Twin T. The SMT is just like an SMT with a bit less depth and a bit more thickness - same dynamic range etc.
Best regards,
Alex

I have a Messa Boogie D-800 amp and I use I believe a 1x12 Barefaced cabinet (Super Compact) which is 600W. I've owned these for the last 9 years and have been fantastic but just wondered if a different cabinet can be recommended that takes advantage of the full 800 watts of the amp?
Or does it not actually make a difference as most gigs I play the bass goes through a DI into the desk and I never have to turn the amp up that loud?
Natalie
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Natalie,
If you're never turning the amp up that loud then it doesn't matter at all!
If you want to know how much power you're actually using, download a free dB meter app, set it to C or Z weighted and hold and put it on the ground 1m in front of your cab. Let me know what dB number it reads when you're playing at your loudest and I'll tell you how many watts that is.
Best regards,
Alex

I have a very early One10 and I think the only things holding the Tolex on are the corner caps. Two questions: What glue would you advise me to use to stick the Tolex back on, and what would you charge me for you to re-Tolex the cab?
Cheers,
Chris
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Chris,
We can send you some of our "jelly glue" to reglue it. Unfortunately it isn't possible for us to retolex your cab, it would cost more than building a whole new one! Hope it's sounding good despite this issue.
Best regards,
Alex

My Barefaced cabs have been making me sound good for the last 11 years. I use combinations of a Super Compact, Super Mini and BB2 and 2x One10's. All with Aguilar amps. The compliments keep coming.

I have owned one of your lightweight bass cabs (Super Compact) for a few years now and I love it. However I wonder why none of my speakon plugs fit it and I have to use speakon to jack to go from the amp to the cab.
Can you advise please?
Andrew
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Andrew,
Glad you're loving it - but that's very strange! Our speakons take standard 2 pole or 4 pole Neutrik speakons - they're these: https://www.neutrik.
(or on our newest cabs the new XX version which is black not dark green).
Best regards,
Alex

I brought my Super Compact instead of my Super Twin because I believed that the P.A. for this loud classic rock band would include subs and a direct line for my amp. Nope. OK, I'll just turn up. Heavenly night for me thanks to Barefaced Audio
