I love the speaker, the small size, the green tolex and the light weight. Totally satisfied.
It sounds very good and it actually fills the room better and has much better off-axis projection than my oversized 1x12 combo.
It’s also not as muddy as the Marshall 4x12 in the rehearsal space and feels just as loud.
When I tried it in my flat, it felt much too loud for practicing, especially when I’m not alone in the room.
If I was in a chugging metal band, I might prefer the bassy punch of the 4x12 in the room (maybe not in the Mix though).
Interestingly I find the barefaced somewhat boxy on some clean tones but I love any type of overdrive on it.
Very clear and focused but not fizzy or shrill.
Compared to my combo (which has a bassy Eminence Texas Heat in it and is wider and taller),
I find myself turning up the bass a little more on the barefaced cab.
However in band-rehearsal, the missing bass sounded very good, so I don’t mind it.
I did not play a gig with it yet but my guess is that it will be a good experience.
I love lightweight gear and for a small cab, the sound and sound-distribution is awesome.
Since I’m usually fine with my 1x12 or a fender 2x12 combo, I can’t see any reason why the barefaced should disappoint.
On the contrary. I will probably be able to move around more without the fear of not hearing myself properly.
It also seem sturdy, which is very important for a cab that is used for gigs.

Looking forward to something amazing to practice with in my study – I can then leave the 2 x BB3s for playing with the band. My only regret with the BB3s is I don’t get to play them loud as often as I would like – I find them incredible in a big room.

I've used it on three gigs so far (jazz gigs with double bass) and I couldn't be happier. Punchy, balanced and does not fart when pushed, in a tiny and low weight package. And looks classy with the silver cloth front. What more could I ask for?

So I tried the V-type last week - lovely clean but there's something up when an overdriven signal is going through it. A 'raspiness' at a certain frequency. Now, stupidly, I made a change to the amp that I used that may be cause (reduced attenuation between gain stages and no grid resistor = potential blocking distortion). Or it may be that the V-type has a peak where my other speakers have a trough, and I'm now hearing something that has been there all along.
To resolve, I'm going to try with another higher gain amp, then swap out the V-type for the Copperback and give that a go. And lastly, partially undo the change that I made to the original amp...
But I've two questions:
1) when swapping, do I need more foam tape to form the seal / gasket?
2) do these neo-type speakers need long to break-in? If so, how long? Forum posts suggest neos take a long time to 'settle'. Any truth?
Oh, the cabinet was a dream to transport. Head, cab, and guitar all taken by foot to the venue in the rain, stopping for dinner in a pub over the road (no obstruction etc etc) and gave us a tiny bit extra 'stage' area.
Thanks,
Tristan
Hi Tristan,
1. No foam tape now: https://youtu.be/bSUs6cBQQss?
2. Depends on the speaker, how loud you play and what sounds you use, and mostly, how much you notice! We don't bother breaking speakers in for demo videos and we're quite fussy.
You're probably just hearing an element of your distortion differently - that happens a lot between different drivers.

Just tried the Copperback. Woah. Huge difference in sound - and for me a better one compared to the V-type.

I'm liking the BB3s very much. I love being able to pick them up with one hand, and the fact that they are half the weight of my Pearson/Beyma cabs. They bring a bit more heft to the bottom end of my sound, which I also like. I'm looking forward playing more gigs with them.

Hi,
A while back I ordered a 1x12 guitar cab from you guys. It is incredible. My rig has changed a bunch since then (lifestyle changes and living arrangements are part of this). I'm currently running a Fractal Audio FM9 (floorboard version of the popular Axe FX III) and a pair of powered Laney LFR-112 FRFR cabs. Those things sound great too, but they are ungodly heavy (45 lbs 1x12 and a horn)--I feel like I could have a 2x12 from barefaced for each of those and still have a rig that weighs less. Since I'm back to using modeling devices, I'm interested in the Reality cabs, but there's no 2x12 version. I think there was mention somewhere that you'd do them on request. I'm curious about the weight and price. I'm located in the US so shipping might be an issue.
David
---------------------------------------------
Hi David,
Yes, we'll add 2x12" versions of the Reality to our product line as people order them. You can choose between 212V (Uprising size), 212H (Radical size), and 212XL (Upsizing size). The weights and prices will relate to those models like the weight and price of the Reality relates to the Reformer. Does that make sense? Glad you're so pleased with your 1x12 guitar cab!
Best regards,
Alex

I'm seriously considering purchasing a second One10 to pair with the one I purchased a few months ago. After a few months of intensive use I can only say one thing: the cabinet sounds great and since it arrived I have no longer used the Schroeder, which I am now selling. The only limit is the amount of bass above a certain volume and for this reason I'm considering a second One10.

Hi Marco,
That's great to hear - and adding a second One10 will make a big difference in the amount of bass you can get when playing loud!

BB3’s little brother, One10T has arrived! This little guy is small but mighty. Only 4 weeks from ordering and shipping to CA. I’m so happy with this. Thanks BF team! p.s. I was bored last night and hooked up my rig to the tv and watched a horror movie. It sounded so real I’m lucky the neighbours didn’t call the police

Hi, I have a Reformer 112 with the AVD and love it. I’m thinking about getting another AVD cab with 10” speaker(s), and wonder what you recommend for me. I’ll be playing a low wattage Fender super style head (only 10W currently) so I’m not sure if a 1x10 or 2x10 would be best. I hope to have something that puts out a similar level to the 1x12 Reformer that I’ll try to play in parallel with a low watt British amp head.
The reformer has an Alnico Cream in it, and I mostly play blues and jazz. I like that speaker alot because it’s very neutral and high powered in case I want to play my modeler through a power amp. Anything in the 10” lineup you think is similar?
Is the 2x10 vertical cab about the same width as the 1x12 reformer?
Michael

Hi Mike,
All the widths are on the main guitar cab page so it's easy to compare: https://
The G10 Gold is definitely closest to the Cream! The G10 Vintage is probably the next closest but not as warm and pretty sounding.

Hi Alex,
This does my main rig look like. Standard Marshall ( 4.5k clone) on that incredible good Barefaced.
Lots of people ask me for the secret of my tone. I go: the Barefaced cab with a Fane Ascension F30 AlNiCo

Not in the market for a new cab yet, still TOTALLY delighted with my Super Twin (which I have had since December 2017 and would not change it for the world! Paired with an EBS Reidmar 750, perfect match !) – any price increase is not an issue as you pay for what you get which is unmatched quality and build – so stop worrying!

16/10/24 - Three10 - USA
I managed to broker a deal wherein I acquired a Three10 here in the U.S. for a very reasonable price. It's immaculate and came with the cover too, which is great. It sounds just as you described, very punch and not tinny or scrapy the way some 10 inch speakers sound. Really dig it. Only played at low volumes thus far but am looking forward to playing it loud at rehearsal next Tuesday.
As you can see from the attached picture, I presently have it hooked to my "disconnectable" Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2, which itself is still bolted onto its own 1x12 cab. At rehearsal next week, it'll be using my guitar player's Mesa D800 Plus, which will no doubt sound awesome. I'm just curious what other amps you guys have tried with this particular cab. Either in your own bands and ensembles amongst your staff or just from customer input. I'd like to get it its own dedicated amp so I don't have to rely on either unhooking my Shuttle or my guitar player's Mesa. Plenty of awesome used amps on the market. I have a lot of experience with Mesa, Genz Benz, Markbass, and Eden. A little bit of experience with Genzler and Aguilar. I'm definitely more of a rock player and play electric exclusively but would be open to generally anything. Kinda l like a warmer sound with enough punch to keep it from getting lost in the mix (which is one reason this cab appealed to me.)
Even though I didn't buy it from you guys directly, thanks for making an awesome and unique cab!
Tim
