15/06/25 - Four10 - NZ
Hi Alex and the Barefaced team,
I’m the happy owner of a Four10 cab (4-ohm version) ordered last October with the newer 10CRA drivers. I received the cab in late 2024.
I purchased it without the optional tweeter. In retrospect I should have just added a tweeter seeing as the option was there, and I’m now wondering whether it would be please possible to retrofit my cab with a tweeter and associated crossover components.
Could you please let me know:
• If you can offer a retrofit kit or parts for this upgrade?
• Any info on the internal routing or baffle modification required?
• And if you have any advice for performing the installation safely? I’d be calling on the help of a trusted local technician.
• Does the tweeter crossover take away any top end from the drivers?
• Is the tweeter removed completely from the circuit when fully attenuated?
The look of my Four10 is cool, its size, and portability is fantastic. I absolutely love the cab, especially when thumping my bass hard. That midrange tone is magic when I dig in—but I’d be interested in just a hint more top end openness. I don’t want a full on hifi sound so I presume the tweeter would only be opened up a crack to let just a little added high end through.
Thanks very much in advance for any help and advice you can offer!
Matthew
