So I tried the V-type last week - lovely clean but there's something up when an overdriven signal is going through it. A 'raspiness' at a certain frequency. Now, stupidly, I made a change to the amp that I used that may be cause (reduced attenuation between gain stages and no grid resistor = potential blocking distortion). Or it may be that the V-type has a peak where my other speakers have a trough, and I'm now hearing something that has been there all along.
To resolve, I'm going to try with another higher gain amp, then swap out the V-type for the Copperback and give that a go. And lastly, partially undo the change that I made to the original amp...
But I've two questions:
1) when swapping, do I need more foam tape to form the seal / gasket?
2) do these neo-type speakers need long to break-in? If so, how long? Forum posts suggest neos take a long time to 'settle'. Any truth?
Oh, the cabinet was a dream to transport. Head, cab, and guitar all taken by foot to the venue in the rain, stopping for dinner in a pub over the road (no obstruction etc etc) and gave us a tiny bit extra 'stage' area.
Thanks,
Tristan

Hi Tristan,
1. No foam tape now: https://youtu.be/bSUs6cBQQss?
2. Depends on the speaker, how loud you play and what sounds you use, and mostly, how much you notice! We don't bother breaking speakers in for demo videos and we're quite fussy.
You're probably just hearing an element of your distortion differently - that happens a lot between different drivers.

Just tried the Copperback. Woah. Huge difference in sound - and for me a better one compared to the V-type.
