28/05/25 - Big Baby 2 - UK
I own a Barefaced Big Baby 2 bass cabinet provided to me by a good friend. It has proved nothing short of excellent driven by an Eich T900 which is capable of giving 600W into the Big Baby 8ohms nominal resistance which is ample for pretty much any gig.
However, it is a bit ‘overkill’ for practice and rehearsal purposes.
I was thinking, therefore, of adding a Super Mini which when put with the Big Baby 2 would, with 4ohm resistance, make use of the Eich’s full power where necessary and provide a more portable cab for practice purposes etc.
I see from the information available on your website that you recommend pairing a Super Mini cab and a Big Baby 3, so my initial query is; will the Super Mini work as well with the Big Baby 2?

I just received my Super Mini , it sounds incredible. almost supernatural, how much bass comes out of such a small enclosure.
Thank you so much 🙏 🎶

Hi I am the owner of a Barefaced 2x12 non-tweeter cab. Described by me as the best cab I have ever owned. I am no longer playing large venues and have downsized to a Barefaced Midget which is ideal for the smaller venues that I now play.
A buyer for the 2x12 cab has asked if it is 8 or 4 ohm and I cannot remember the spec. Can you assist in stating the correct rating. I have owned the cab for approx 10 years and include a picture.
Thanks in advance.
Eddie

Hi Eddie,
That's a Super Twelve. 4 ohm. ~1000W. Glad it's done so well for you, ask its new owner to let us know how they like it!
Best regards,
Alex

Was asked to drop you a message after buying a 2nd hand Barefaced 212 cab from a member on Basschat last night.
The seller set it up flat with a TC Staccato head. First thing was it was so blooming loud even with a reasonably low master setting.
2nd thing that hit me was how even the tone was. It was warm and deep but with amazing clarity. No boom, no shrilling high end, just an even tone across the board.
3rd thing which was one of the main reasons I was looking at BF cabs was that no matter where I stood, in front, the side or even leaning over it i could hear this cab the exact same as if standing directly in front of it. Not sure i've ever experienced that with a cab before.
4th point was the weight. My current Mesa SW210/115 cabs are lightweight but I could lift this cab one handed to chest height. My head was asking questions like "How can a cab this light with only 30cm depth be so deep and warm sounding ?"
Got the cab home and was able to crank it a little bit more (detached house in countryside) and everything sounded the exact same at higher volumes apart from everything rattling in the room. Boosted the bass levels on the active Sandberg VM4 to max and WOW it just got better and better. (I normally run amps and bass EQ almost flat with some slight tweaks for different venues)
I normally use either my Mesa TT800 or Handbox WB-100 heads depending how i feel. Leaning more towards the HB all valve head at the moment and I reckon the 212 cab will sound gorgeous with this head. I can seriously say I'm a convert to BF cabs. I bought 2nd hand just in case it wasn't for me but I can see why these cabs are so popular. I will be leaving a review or NCD post on Basschat at some point probably after the gig on Sat.
Hope this helps
Dave

I got my Super Twin June the 19th of 2017. Happy? Hell yes. These days I am playing a Wyn 5 string bass, into an Aguilar AG500 with the Super Twin, I create what the sound guys call liquid bass, not loud, just makes everyone feel that 40HZ all around them and it melts dancers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, what a rig to play. Then in November of 23 I got a Super Compact which I take out for small stuff. Still the same results, which prompted a bass player near me to buy a Barefaced cab. Great fun to show up to a job in my Smart car with all my stuff. Bottom line. (Ha) Barefaced is superior to everything else I have played or heard. What a Cabinet!!!!!

I’m truly thrilled, and I’ve received excellent compliments on my bass sound.
It has low end, sub bass and depth, but without losing precision, musicality, and note definition. I had doubts about my choice. I first plugged into a Fractal FM3 to take advantage of the modeller SVT Ampeg. Then I plugged into the PJB BG450 with its 4X5 » drivers, and the Super Mini 12 » as an extension cabinet. Ultimately, the balance of this configuration works great, and the result is fantastic! (The PJB amp is quite transparent)

The speakers sound great, I've had the Super Twin for about 9 years and just added the Super Compact, not for extra volume but to get something closer to my ears whilst still having a cab on the floor.
