I bought my DB750 new in 2002. I have yet to find anything that comes close to the sound this amp produces. Used in conjunction with the Nordstrand preamp and Barefaced cab, it’s the best sounding rig I have played through.

I have an Origin Effects Super Vintage running into a Barefaced Super Twin, and it is probably the best bass tone I've ever heard. Always on.

I played an amazing gig in a beautiful venue on Saturday with my band Jody And The Jerms supporting The Frank and Walters, with both bands using my Barefaced Super Twin T cab. Paul from F&W was playing through the Orange head and I used the Aguilar. Incredible sounding bass all night!

09/06/25 - Super Midget + One10T - USA

Hi Alex,

I'm back to Barefaced - I recently acquired Super Midget (S/N M083) I LOVE it!

I also have a One10T S/N 899T. No issues there either - together they make for a nice stack, albeit with mismatched grills. Is replacing the One10's black metal grill with one of silver cloth easily done / practical?

Please advise.

Thank you

Rob

Hi Rob,

Glad you're loving them! Unfortunately you can't change the grills - more info here: https://barefacedaudio.com/pages/cloth-to-steel-and-vice-versa

05/06/25 - Super Compact - Canada

Hello Barefaced!

I have a Super Compact Cab (600w/8ohm - SNo: C099) that I bought used in Toronto Canada a few months ago. I absolutely LOVE this cab - the size and weight are wonderful and the sound is superb. I use it with a variety of smaller heads including a Mesa Subway D800 and a Trace Elf mini-head. I sometimes pair it the a MarkBass 15 cab driven by the D800 and it gives me lots of clean volume for bigger gigs.

If I was to buy another Barefaced Cab to pair with my 8 ohm Super Compact, wondering what you would recommend? I have been looking for another Super Compact but they don't seem to come on the market much and certainly not in Canada.

Please let me know your thoughts... LOVE your products and looking to expand!

Thanks

David

Hi David,

Glad the Super Compact is performing well. If you love what it does then get another Super Compact, if you'd like something very similar but even smaller get a Super Mini. We send cabs to Canada all the time, so there's no problem getting one to you!

Best regards,

Alex

02/06/25 - Big Baby 2 - UK

I've recently moved on from a 15 year stint with a band and started a new project, in which we've also decided to try using IEMs and going amp free. That means that the Big Baby 2s that have been sounding fabulous in my bass rig for the last 5 years would have been unused, unless 🤔...

I also run the PA and I'd heard, and read, that BB2s sound great as PA cabs, in fact they were available with optional top hats so you could stick them up on tripods. Mine didn't have these but, since I've built a few decent speaker cabs, I decided to retrofit them myself, so I went past the point of no return and took a 40mm hole saw to them. I fitted the top hats using another layer of ply inside to reinforce the base of the cab. Before drilling holes, I took care to find the centre of gravity ('cos the cab is heavier at the front where the drivers are...turns out it's in line with the strap handle almost as if it was designed that way 🤣) and also took care to seal the top hat and the bolts, nyloc nuts and washers that I'd used to mount the top hats because you can't have air leaks.
Driven by my X32 Rack (my new Wing Rack arrived last Friday but I haven't learned how to use it yet) and a new Yamaha PX8 power amp they sound incredible as full range PA speakers, like a big pair of studio monitors and LOUD! I'm confident that even up on tripods and with some modest EQ they'll kick out enough bass for the kick drum and my low B, have more than enough clout for the places my new rock band will play at and let me leave the heavy old sub at home.
Ironically, their first outing was doing a PA gig at a Jazz Festival in a fairly big church, that I covered for a pal of mine, and they sounded fantastic. Rich, full bodied, well balanced on a mic'd up grand piano and various saxes and guitars throughout the day. Filled the place with quality sound with the amp cruising at -30db.
So now I have some top notch PA cabs and, when I'm doing bass gigs they still sound exactly the same as they always did in my rig. Well happy! I can also confirm that, when you get inside the cab, they're every bit as well designed and constructed as you'd hope!

My new Super Compact was delivered on Monday, and got the chance to try it for the first time at rehearsal tonight.

I was blown away by the sound. Such a difference from my old practice 210, and every bit as good (actually better) a sound as my 810 in that tiny little package. An absolute blinder.

For what it’s worth, this is a killer setup. Fantastic combination of lightweight gear and just sounds divine. I currently have 4 Barefaced cabs, with another trying to get through customs, and they all perform flawlessly. Looking forward to taking this out next week!!
