Barefaced Bass - Ultra lightweight high power bass guitar speaker cabinets

Customer Feedback

31/01/25 - Usurper 210 (2x Neo Creamback) - Hungary

Thanks again for your help!

I just have to give feedback... You must know this already but this cab is downright amazing!

The weight is even less than I estimated and the sound is the same from any point in the room.

This 150% as described. Also kudos to all employees for an A+ customer service.

(I have attached a pic for fun lifting the cab with the little finger, just because I can)

All the best,

Gyorgy

22/01/25 - Radical 212H - USA

I just got my second Barefaced Radical 212H, this one loaded with the Neo Creambacks. I'm still stunned, even being an owner/operator already, at the total superiority of your designs. I went with the Neos because I'm periodically forced to load into my house ahead of gigs, and access is down uneven stone steps, often in the dark, and sometimes there are booby traps. The full-range-ness of the cab, the richness of sound spreading in the room is hard to describe in guitar terms, because it's unique. It's simply so much better, that there aren't even really points of comparison between my AVD cabs and the traditional cabs I've used. They include vintage and special editions from Mesa/Boogie and Orange, loaded with a variety of Celestions, Webers, and Eminences. The AVD cabs are just better in every way. I'm pretty stunned at the consistent sound between the two cabs I have, which are loaded with very different drivers. The first one has an H75 and DV77 combo, and the second is dual Neo Creams. They match each other remarkably well, which was a pleasant surprise.

I also want to say, I love the YouTube channel. Not only are the cabs better, but I'm beginning to understand why. My only request is more high-gain content. I think many of us metal folk are up our own asses about tone a little bit, but it is true that under gain, speaker voices can change everything (and still further once they are miced as normal). I really think your cabs are the shit for metal and hope we all catch up to the curve.

And another thing! I've noticed in your comparison videos between classic cabs and AVD cabs is how revealing the AVDs are of the voice of the speakers in question. When comparing the T75s, no one's favorite speaker for metal (though, for me, a solid choice for R&B), the Radical spoke in the voice I expected to hear from a close-miced speaker but at a distance in the room. Thoroughly exciting stuff. One of these days I'll have to get a pair of Upsizings!

Thank you again.

1 gig down and I LOVE IT! Everything I was hoping for! - 16th December 2024

I’m loving the cab even more! I have a quick sound geek question. What is your opinion on tilting back a cabinet? I’m playing some gigs at a particularly problematic sounding stage and in the past I tilted my cab back and it helped.

Thanks again!

Greg

Hi Greg,

Great to hear! If tilting the cab works, then by all means do it - you'll change the polar pattern which has pros and cons but you'll also change the mechanical connection with the stack, which is probably what's helped you if the lows were too boomy. The Super Compact has wider dispersion than most bass cabs which makes it less problematic on stages with bad acoustics, so if it was more of a midrange mud than than bass boom situation you may not need to tilt it at all. But trust your ears (with a degree of scepticism)!

Best regards,

Alex

I absolutely love my SC, and have gigged it with great success. So much so that I sold off my other cabs. My SC will never be for sale.

I found a used, well cared for One10 and love that also. I have ordered a One10 this morning to pair with that, and plan to run them in parallel.

The plan: The 2x One10 stack will be paired with a Mesa D-800, playing a Ric 4003 with TI flats. The amp is set flat, with the “voicing” rolled off; I have discovered that setting most closely matches the SC using a Mesa D-800+ (also set flat). The guitar is always on vintage mode, and the Effectrode (model PC-2A) compressor is always on regardless of rigs.

I play in a Beatles cover duo, with volumes kept reasonable, and as clean as I can get for the most part.

May I have a blessing on this order, and on the rig?

Steve

Hi Steve,

Sounds like a good plan!

Hi Alex.

Finally got round to trying the cab at a loud rehearsal last night. Loud being the word. It's sensational, I was set up before my bass player even arrived, he got distracted by a frozen puddle or something, I dunno, bass players... Anyway, he was setting up to my right and I played a couple of chords to which he said "fuck, oh yeah, is that the new cab?!"

He couldn't believe the sound from standing square level with the side of it about 10 feet away.

Anyway, I'm over the moon, you've created something that IMO really is a revolutionary piece of kit. I hope people keep discovering them and you are very successful.

Thanks again,

Ross

13/01/25 - Super Twin / Six10 - Slovenia

Super Twin and Six10 are nailing it for almost a decade now.

I miss my ex Super Midget that has been stolen from rehearsal studio 4 years ago and is probably on duty somewhere in Bosnia... I will be in need for a smaller cab, Two10T or One10T, for small gigs in future and I'm curious about active FR Reality for guitar to combine it with Helix or Kemper processor.

Best regards to your team,

Janez

Hi Janez,

Glad to hear your cabs are still performing well! There's an active One10T now which is pretty cool!

Best regards,

Alex

18/01/25 - Four10 - Germany

Dear Alex and team,

For years I use your Four10 with a [Ampeg] V4B RI and overall happy with this cab! My sound changed meantime to a more brighter sound, where the tweeter-less cab comes to its end. Thinking about adding a tweeter, like your T-models maybe solve this problem, if not change to your 12-cabs. If I would order a x-over to put it in a small box with an ATP80 running parallel to the Four10? Or is there space to add a horn into the Four10 cab? Thank you in advance an have a nice weekend!

Daniel

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Daniel,

Glad you've been enjoying the Four10. Unfortunately there's no space to retrofit a tweeter - we cut most of the panels differently for the T version. You could of course add a Two10ST on top which would be epic!

Best regards,

Alex

The Super Mini is awesome and when paired with my Big Baby 3 I reckon I could demolish buildings with the sonic barrage.

Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my Super Compact bass cab! It's amazing! I noticed that you now offer your Activier powered cabinet in the One10 cab for bass. Looks awesome, but I worry that only 100w @8 ohms won't give me enough headroom for bass. But if you were to beef up the power output of the Activier built in amplifier and offer it in a powered Big Baby 3, I would snap that up immediately and love you forever! Just saying!

Thanks for all you do

Dave

Hi Dave,

That's great to hear about your SC! And we are working on some bigger powered cabs!

Best regards,

Alex

16/01/25 - Super Twin / Super Compact / Big Baby 2 - UK

I'm enjoying gigging my Super Twin, Super Compact and BB2. They sound as good as they ever had but cosmetically they are starting to look a little rough around the edges. Could you recommend a suitable textured paint so I can touch them up?

Dave

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Dave,

We can sell you some of our paint - it's custom made for us so I don't know of anything else you can buy that'll work. The texture is all in the technique though - it's the same paint on the outside and the baffle and ports etc.

19/01/25 - Reality 112FR - USA

I bought the first iteration of the Reality FRFR cabs and have always loved how they translated the sounds from my Axe FX III, and how the adjustable tweeter worked for the differing guitars that I have; However, I thought there was something missing and couldn't put my finger on what it was. The chain that I use is the Axe into a Matrix GT 1000 FX (2U); directly into the 2 reality cabs. They were connected by a pair of Dean Markley speaker cables. Sounded great, just not fabulous. 2 weeks ago, one of the speaker cables seemed to start to cut in and out so decided to get a new set to connect to the cabs. I purchased a pair of Gator Cableworks Headliner Series, premium 12-gauge speaker cables and the fabulous is now there. I kind of did not believe all the talk about cables until I started purchasing better guitar cables and heard the difference they made. So, I did it with the cab cables and could not be happier. I recommend these cables highly. Hope this helps users of your cabinets. By the way, I would never get rid of or use any other cabinets for the AXE. One of the best purchases I ever made.
