Barefaced Bass - Ultra lightweight high power bass guitar speaker cabinets

Customer Feedback

The cab sounds great, awesome build quality. I do have one dumb question: I looked in the paperwork that came with the cab, but couldn't find a 'hold my hand and explain like I'm stupid" explanation for what exactly the two inputs on the back of the cab are for and the difference between them, and which one is which?

David

The inputs are identical - they're in parallel so if you can use one as an out if you want to daisy-chain cabs (in parallel). It's a standard thing on bass cabs and we couldn't see a good reason to leave it off a guitar cab.

Best regards,

Alex

12/01/25 - Big Baby 2 - Belgium

Good afternoon, I just bought a second-hand Barefaced Big Baby 2 cabinet yesterday, which looks like a brand-new cab, but I have some distortion in the low frequencies on the E string when I turn up the volume.

The problem appears with an Aguilar 500 at volume 3 and gain 3, unless the cab can support 800w. Could you tell me if I have to check the HP or another setting? A good advice would be appreciated. Otherwise, the cabinet is perfect - light, with an excellent sound, thank you for that (and for my back!)

Hi Alex,

Sorry to hear about the unwanted noise! Are you sure it isn't the amp distorting (I know you don't have the volume very high but that doesn't mean the amp isn't reaching full power and clipping. But do check through this page and report back: https://barefacedaudio.com/pages/cab-troubleshooting?_pos=5&_sid=3af682ffa&_ss=r

I have had, used and been delighted with my Super Twin for years, and would like a One10 to drag to rehearsals.

I am considering changing the V30 speaker in my Reformer 112 for another speaker, possibly a celestion greenback (just to try a different sound, nothing wrong with the V30 as such). I saw in one of your videos (https://youtu.be/kanKPlOcQXg?si=C3esQJHNCi_6oTVP) the instructions on how to do this - thanks a lot - very useful!

I noticed that it was mentioned as important to have tape added between the speaker chassis and the wood, around the rim of the speaker, to seal the volume and avoid rattle. Could you point me to which tape to use for this please, so I can purchase a roll of it? I hope I will find it online if I know the brand and/or type of tape.

Many thanks for making great speaker cabinets!

Hi Thorsten,

We started fitting the felt tape in 2023 - I don't know of anywhere that sells it, we get it specially made, but we can sell you some. Glad you're loving the cab!

Best regards,

Alex

Just in case you don’t have a picture of the Radical underneath a full size Marshall style head. Here it is under my Suhr SL68.

Long time barefaced user here. Playing in the band ‘Mums’. Two loud and deep tunes guitar with 100w valves heads both with the 2x12 cabs with Neo Copperbacks.

We LOVE our cabs, and anyone we play with is always in awe of how loud they are and how light they are!!

05/02/25 - Big Baby 3 - USA

Hi Alex,

After reading your note, I bought a used Big Baby 3. As I began playing it, I first thought, “Hm, this sounds kind of weird”. As I kept playing it over the next few days and compared it to my other cabs, I began to realise that the sound from the cab just wasn’t what I was used to. Eventually, it began to sink in that the BB3 was doing all kinds of things my other premium cabs approach but don’t fully achieve. The BB3 is clearer, it goes deeper, it has more detail, and is tighter, in terms of the sound starting and stopping on a dime, than any of my other high end cabs. My old cabs have begun to sound unsatisfying in comparison. It’s really cool that the BB3 is small and light and absolutely holds its own as a solo cab, but the BB3 would be my preferred cab now, even if none of those things were true, because it simply sounds better than anything else I have ever played. The BB3 is an amazing achievement!

PS - I don’t need to add another cab to get the depth I’m used to with pairs of cabs. The BB3 does it solo.

Thanks again.

I love the cab I bought from you guys last year. Exceptional sound and quality.

Just received the cabinet. This thing is unbelievable! I am still floored at how light it is. And I love the tone of my guitar through it.
