09/10/24 - Big Baby 2 - UK
Hi,
I have a Big Baby 2 and it seems to have started distorting on the low notes ( C on the 3rd string downwards).
I've read through your troubleshooting guide and I've taken all the steps suggested re: different leads, basses etc but the problem is consistent. As far as I can tell the sound is coming from the centre of the speaker cone. Adjusting the tweeter appears to make no difference. I have had the cabinet for a few years and it has been used 2 or 3 times a month but has never been pushed hard- the biggest amp I use is 300watts.
Can you help? Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Sorry to hear about this! It looks like your cab was purchased by Andertons in mid 2020 so it's out of warranty but we can sell you a replacement speaker which will solve the problem. It doesn't sound like you've blown it but it's had far too many hours of use to be a manufacturing fault in the normal sense - a bad glue joint on a dustcap is usually found in final QC here or goes on the first few gigs. Here's the link to the replacement driver:

Hope it was sounding good until this happened!

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the prompt reply and I was obviously aware that it was out of warranty - I think I was just hoping you'd send me magic spell to fix it!
It is a little bit disappointing to have to replace the speaker on such an expensive item given the amount of use I've had out of it , but these things happen and I think your offer is very reasonable in the circumstances.
I'll order the replacement now - is there anything I need to know about removing the old one and fitting the new one?
Thanks for your help and yes, it was sounding very good before the problem arise!
Thanks
Andy

Hello Alex,
The cabinet arrived in good condition!
It looks absolutely perfect! Great!
Tomorrow I will play with my band and I will try this little monster for the first time...
I know it will sound fabulous.
Maybe I make a short video.
Best regards
Robert

I got home from holidays and was finally able to put together my new rig. I'm in love with these speaker cabinets. I love the 1x12 but that 2x10 has incredible tone just like you said. They sound great together as well. I think the 2x10 will be my go-to most of the time. Thanks again for all your help and for making such an incredible product.
I am promoting you quite a bit on the Facebook pages that I belong to for bass players.

Good afternoon, I was wondering if I could trouble you for some advice?
I have a Barefaced One10 that I purchased in 2016 that I love. I was running an EBS Reidmar Head through it which has sadly died this week. I'm just looking into getting a replacement head and was wondering if a TC Electronic BAM200 Ultra-Compact 200 Watt Bass Head would work through it? (https://www.andertons.co.uk/
I'm not much of an expert when it comes to Wattage and the Ohms of Heads and Cabs and wanted to check whether this Head would be safe to use and what sort out Output I could get from it? Thanks for your time, any advice would be much appreciated.
Best wishes
Alan

Hi Alan,
It'll be fine to use, not as powerful as the Reidmar, maybe 150W into the One10. No harm ordering it and sending it back if you don't like it!

Alex

The SMT sounds great and works great, cuts through easily and I can hear any small changes I make in my signal chain, just what I want. Amazing speaker for upright bass.
Thanks for your input

I have two One10’s which i run with my Ashdown Mag600.
Very happy.
An Ashdown Mag 900 has recently come my way which would be nice to use on bigger gigs.
This has two separate outputs which will both run loads down to 4ohm.
Amp can’t be bi-amped.
Just checking its OK to use either a Two10S (on 4ohm) or another pair of One10’s (in parallel).
I appreciate that a Two10 is 2” deeper than a One10.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
ABM 900 is two 600W-ish amps in one box so that'll be 4 ohms on each side, so could run a Two10S @ 4 on one side and two One10 cabs on the other side.

Last year I bought a Four10 from you. I absolutely love it. But I was thinking about a 6x10. My question is can I add a Two10 to this rig? I have the 8 ohm cab now. I run either a GK Legacy 800 or a GK 1001RB. Both cabs are capable of 4ohms. Both are highly 800 watts at 4 ohm. The legacy can go to 2ohms.

Hi Matt,
Glad you're loving the Four10! Yes, you can add a Two10S. Switch it to 12 ohms to stack on the Four10 and have a 6x10CR rig with 4 ohm impedance and all six drivers sharing the power equally. And on its own you can switch it to 4 ohm to free up more amp headroom or keep it at 12 ohms to pull the power back to about 2/3 of the 8 ohm power rating.

Well…. I’m rarely lost for words, but…. The new 2x10 has landed and has joined my other two 2x10 cabs…. Well…
The difference between going from 4x10 to 6x10 is MASSIVE, I was not expecting that. I guess because the Mesa Boogie is now putting out 800 watts into 4 ohms that really helps too, but I WAS NOT EXPECTING such a monumental increase in power and volume. To be honest the 4x10 rig got a bit pushed to near its comfortable limit at some gigs but I can tell that even with our drummer trying to out hit Bonzo and our guitarist with his Marshall stack I will still be very much heard, and felt. Couldn’t be more happy.

25/11/24 - Reformer 112 - UK
I currently own the Reformer 1x12 and am just enquiring if it's possible to have another front panel made for my cab. I recently just purchased the Friedman Little Sister head and the covering on the front of it is called Silver Weave and I would like a replacement made to match the amp.
I have contacted Friedman amps and am waiting for a reply from them regarding purchasing some of this grill cloth, could you advise me if you stock this type of cloth? If not, and you do not stock the grill cloth and providing you could make the panel how much material would I need to purchase to cover the panel and what would the cost of this panel be?
I love the cab and it would be great if I could interchange the front panel depending on what amp I wanted to use. I'm currently using Victory Sheriff 25 and the cab has black and tan Mojotone grill cloth.
Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Keith

Hi Keith,
Sorry, we don't make replacement grills for our cabs - they're the most labour intensive part of the process and we don't have the capacity to make any more than what's needed for new orders. I wouldn't recommend taking the grill on and off frequently, it's really not designed for that and I think you'll end up with parts getting worn/damaged. Hope the cab is sounding good!
Best regards,
Alex
