09/09/24 - Big Baby 2 + 3 - UK

Hi Alex, this is an odd question but, I have a Big Baby II. I’m getting a PA and have been advised that I will still need a sub even with 15” tops. I use the BB with a Crown 1000w PA amp, normally, bridged. Will I kill my cab if I use the amp and cab as a sub, for now?

Hi Adrian,

As long as the cab is running clean then it'll be fine - the 12XN is designed to distort quite a lot before it blows (unless you're putting in a particularly unusual signal). What are your crossover and limiter settings going to be?

26/08/24 - Usurper 112W - USA

I've been digging the Usurper with 100 year anniversary Celestion AlNiCo (your first I was told) which sounds even better now after playing through it for awhile, especially after loosening-up the surround by playing a bass through it for awhile!

My question is about getting another Usurper with 2 x 10" speakers: the design of the cabinet seems like it would bounce the sound around differently with speakers behind the two chambers, rather than having one in the middle, so I'm wondering if that would be an improvement or not? I'm considering adding another Usurper with 2 x 10" is why I ask.

You mentioned having tone rings for using a 10" speaker in the 12" baffle, but I don't see them listed on your website? While I love 12" speakers, I prefer 10" speakers, and can't help thinking it might sound awesome to use one 10" speaker in this oversized cabinet. Thanks again for the best cab I've ever played through, it really does make a difference!

Hi David,

Glad you're enjoying the cab! The AVD slot is always directly behind the centre of the speaker, so a Usurper 210 has one AVD on one side, unless you order the dual AVD customisation. That customisation (and the 10-12" adapter and many other things) are over on this page:

Thanks, Alex! The cab is sounding great, but as you know, it only sounds as good as I do. So I'm pretty stoked to be getting good sounds that everyone loves.

It should be ****24 (or ****-24) which is your order number plus the year of manufacturer. That goes for every model of cab we produce!

Yeah, I am loving it. Will take a while to get familiar with the dispersion of sound. I think once in a bigger space, it will sound better without me right in front of the cab.

20/09/24 - Six10 + Big Twin 2 - USA

Hello! 

I finally repaired my 6x10 from the shipping damage, loving the cab and currently using it with a Fender Bassman 800 - unfortunately the grill material does not match on these Fenders (it's darker), could you please point me to how I can get ahold of the material so I can get them to match? (please see attached)

I'm about to take delivery on an Orange AD200 and do not want to lug around a pair of 95 pound OBC 410 cabinets (lovely as they are), would it be possible to get a Super Twin done up to match the Orange? I've seen some cabs/baffles done in interesting colors but haven't seen one in Orange. 

PS loving my Big Twin 2 as well with a Fractal FM9 setup.

Nice picture, that rig looks glorious! Glad the smashed foot is sorted now.

The Six10 cloth is Fender B/W/S (https://www.mojotone.com/Fender-Style-Black-White-Silver-Grill-Cloth-36-W) which we order in bulk from Mojotone.

It looks like the Fenders used the aged version (https://www.mojotone.com/Fender-Style-Aged-Black-White-Silver-Grill-Cloth-36-W) or are just old! We can only order from Mojotone in bulk and our UK supplier doesn't offer this Aged cloth

So you could either get the B/W/S cloth from Mojotone to redo the Fenders or grab the Aged B/W/S to redo the Six10. If you wanted to redo the Six10 grill we could send a badge and some beading (piping) to finish the grill.

Regarding the Super Twin - we're currently doing a cabinet for someone to pair with an Orange amp and they've chosen to use this Tolex (https://www.allparts.uk.com/products/tolex-vox-hiwatt-57-inch-wide-per-yard?variant=660533249) which we think is the best match. But have a look on AllParts as there a few choices of orange Tolex. Bear in mind that all computer screens are different though so colours might seem different between us.

You can always send a photo of the AD200 when it arrives and we can help find a Tolex/Grill cloth to match.

Hi Alex,

I'm trying to establish the cost of an unloaded Reformer cabinet to install my Celestion Neo Creamback speaker.

5 or 6 years ago I purchased a GX11 with the Eminence Alessandro 12" just before you rebranded the cab. I absolutely loved it but eventually went down the small lightweight combo route with a Princeton ToneMaster, very good but I miss the feel of a valve amp and grabbed the current deal on the PRS HDRX head. I have a Neo Creamback and wondered how much an empty Reformer would cost, but could not get the discount code that you list, to apply on the checkout page. As a seriously arthritic 70-year-old every ounce of weight saving is important, but I remember the tone of that Eminence loaded cab very fondly

Neo Creamback in the Reformer will be comically light. You could also go with an Upsetter 112N if you want to go even smaller (and a bit lighter). Obviously a big leap forwards tonally from your ToneMaster - ToneSuperMaster! ;-)

Hi Issac , Alex and Barefaced team. 

Had my first rehearsal with our band [Sic]Note with my new Three10T.

The cab has changed the whole sound of the band in a great way. The reaction from my bandmates was amazing. It’s hooked up to  a Ampeg Venture V7 700w.

The Barefaced-Ampeg combo is everything I’ve looking for in my sound.

22/08/24 - Big Twin 3 - UK

I’ve good experience of the BB2’s and also both the BT2 and now BT3. OK, so I had a little break between the BT2 and BT3, but I am sure my BT3 sounds better. The 2 was a very capable cabinet and I only sold it after buying new as I went with the BB2x2 modular stack approach. But, there’s something about the BT3 that plays better. I can’t really even describe it. Some of the basses and amplifier I use haven’t changed! It’s just a brilliant, brilliant performer, balanced sounding with everything I need and nothing I don’t.
