29/03/24 - Big Baby 2 - USA

I’m going on 7 years with my Big Baby 2 and can’t tell you how happy I am with it. My amp search ended when I found the Orange Bass Terror amp (newer version). Coupled with the BB2 and my 5 string, it is pure heaven. This combination is just magical. So much better than anything else I had previously.

15/03/24 - Two10 - Denmark

I have the retro two10, (4ohm), used with a all tube Marshall super bass 100 w from 1969, with a 4 and 8 ohm switch. ( ohm switch on 4)
I really love the sound and weight of the cab, and my question is... If I add the new two10S, will it give me more power/punch/bottom for use in bigger venues or outdoor gigs?
(This setup compared to the retro six10?)
If so, should my amp ohm switch be set to 4 or 8 ohm, for the best performance?

With best regards,

Svenni

Alex says:

Hi Svenni,
Yes, adding a Two10S will work very well. I'd make a series loop cable for the two cabs and then run the amp on the 8 ohm tap.

13/03/24 - Uprising 212V - USA

I have an exceptional Uprising 212V with the legacy G1255H speakers.

Thank you for making such an incredible product! I'm preparing to order an upsetter from you guys shortly

09/03/24 - One10 - USA

Hey,
I own a One10 and really dig it. I don't currently push a lot of watts through it, but nonetheless it gets pretty loud for a little 1x10!

My questions are about the following specs:
  • Broadband sensitivity: 95dB
  • Max power: 250W RMS (500W clean)
I read somewhere that Barefaced doesn't measure sensitivity at the fairly common 1w/1m. If that's correct, how do you measure it? I only ask because it seems comparably loud to other cabs with higher rated sensitivity.
Next question is the delta b/t 250w RMS and 500W clean. Since different heads have different baked in eq, and different pedals do different things to a signal, there's quite a bit of wiggle room between the conservative 250 and the 500 (which I wouldn't ever try to do with a single One10.) Would say 300-350W with some mild OD and maybe reverb be a reasonable ask of a One10?
My One10 is perfect for what I'm doing right now. As I hope to get into some new playing situations, a matching One10 or Two10 is on the horizon.
Cheers,
Mike
Alex says:
Hi Mike,
Glad you're enjoying the One10! Our sensitivity specs are at 1W/1m half-space, as is the standard. The difference is that a lot of companies either pick the loudest point on the frequency response curve, take an average which has no weighting towards the lower frequencies that matter, or seemingly pick a number out of thin air! Or they use the 2.83V standard which gets you a 3dB higher number with a 4 ohm cab.
Our cabs are as loud as its possible to make a cab that still does proper lows, so anyone claiming better sensitivity isn't telling the truth or the cab doesn't do comparable lows so the sensitivity will be lower where it actually matters for bass instruments.

500W is fine as long as the sound isn't so dirty, and/or your band so loud, that you can't hear the speaker complaining.
Best regards,
Alex

11/03/24 - Super Compact - USA

Loving my two Super Compacts, impressive volume and low end. I rarely need both, and they handle my B string with ease. But, I do feel I've lost a little upper mid, upper end definition compared to my Epifani 310. What are your thoughts regarding a 110 or 110T combined with the Super Compact? They would be powered by an Aguilar AG700. Any other suggestions?

Mike

Alex says:

Hi Mike,
This may be a tweeter thing, as the 12XN driver is very accurate through the mids and the lower treble. Or maybe the 10"s in the Epifani add a lot in that region. I don't generally recommend mixing the 10CR and 12XN drivers. Can you EQ this range up?

Received at light speed and now wrapped around cab.

Thanks again, you make fantastic products and dealing with you fantastic humans makes it all the better!

08/03/24 - One10T - UK

Hi Alex

Have had the One10T for a while now and really liking the tone difference compared to the 12XN cabs I have.

Whilst having a play around the other day I tried running the One10 and the Super Midget together as a stack and they sounded great - the best of both worlds!

My question however - is there any detriment to running the mix of speaker sizes together (i.e. - would the 10 get worked much harder than the 12 at higher volumes and could I potentially harm one of the drivers?).

Using an Aguilar AG700 currently.

Thanks in advance

Steve

08/03/24 - Super Twin - Canada

Just a quick note to tell you that I got my Super Twin T early this week just in time for my gig.  Big thanks for sending it out on time. So far I’m loving everything that I'm throwing at it. Attached is a pic of my rig (Aguilar is there as spare) with my 1960 P-bass.

Again, thank you!

Hey guys

I started rehearsals for tour today with the 6x10 and sounds killer

The cab is awesome, as usual. I use it weekly at rehearsal with my pre amp power amp gear. The dinky 5mm amp I bought just for home practice and pedal testing.

PS I'm still loving my SC too I haven't considered another cab since buying it years ago from you. Well, ok, maybe considering a 2nd SC to make a modular ST!

Hi again, just wanted to get back and let you know I couldn’t be happier with this cab! Still can’t get over how unbelievable it sounds, and it’s handling and frequency response. I’m throwing a lot at it in terms of power and dynamics (octave and synth pedals stacked with multiple fuzzes, along with delays, reverb and modulation) and it absolutely crushes it all. Was using Mesa powerhouse and diesel cabinets before, and this thing blows them out of the water.

Probably the best gear purchase I’ve ever made. Thank you for making such an epic cab!

Hi guys

Just to let you know that my cab arrived safely this morning to the wilds of a very wet and windy Somerset.

No issues with the packaging, good communication from DPD and, once I got into the box, all was well and sounds fantastic. Very different from my SC, lot more middle range apparent which I'm sure will smooth down over usage but really looking forward to getting to use it at gigging volume on Friday this week. Sounds great with my Orange OB1-500.

Thank you for getting it to me in time and so superbly packaged.

Keep up the good work

Geoff
