Can I just check how to link them both, do I need one speakon cable to go from active to passive or 2? I’m using 1 but want to be sure.

Thanks!

Dan

Hi Dan,

Just one speaker lead (1/4" or speakon, both are fine) to go from the Activier's output 2 to the passive cab.

Best regards,

Alex

Fantastic. They look incredibly well built. I can’t wait to get them out on the road 🙏

Can I check something: the speakers in the back of the cabs say Full Range Live Response. Should they not be FRFR? I’m finding that they sound VASTLY different EQ wise to my studio monitors, IEMs and my old FRFR matrix speakers.

Thank you

Dan

Hi Dan,

It's Full Range Live Response because the Q of the speaker is designed to correct for how an IR doesn't capture the full transient behaviour and resulting distortions of a guitar speaker. Dial your IRs and EQ in for the Reality's and they'll feel more like a real guitar rig than even the best studio monitors. Let us know how you get on and if you need any help - it can take a bit of work but you will get there! Don't forget that you've got lots of options in how you drive the top and bottom speakers, the rear tweeter level and the switchable high pass filter on the bottom speaker.

Best regards,

Alex

Thanks Alex,

I found today that just after a quick fiddle with the balance of top and bottom speaker and pads I’m worlds apart from where I was yesterday 🙏 thanks so much.

If I need any more advice I’ll be in touch.

Thank you,

Dan

I received my cabinet yesterday. All fine, initial playing sounded amazing.

Is there a User Manual for the Reality 112 FR Active Stereo? None on your webpage, can you mail me one? Like to understand how to use the 2 inputs and the 2 outputs when adding a passive cab to it.

Thanks and Best regards

Klaus

Great to hear! I still haven't got around to writing a manual but regarding that question - if you just plug into input 1 then amp 1 will drive the internal speakers (and you can connect an extension cab via speakon output 1), and amp 2 will also put out the same signal through speakon output 2.

If you plug into input 2 then input 1 will only drive amp 1 and input 2 will only drive amp 2. Amp 1 remains connected to the internal speakers and also speakon output 1. Amp 2 is just connected to speakon output 2.

Let me know if that is clear or not - if not I'll do a quick drawing!

Alex

Keep you all posted. I dunno if I will ever need anything else…. Lol.

Tell the rest of the team this cabinet is beyond my dreams of what I thought it would be. It's sooooo good!

Thank you!

Hi,

I recently bought second hand your Four10 cabinet.

It's awesome and I really like it. I got it with black steel and thing is I'm kind of an old school guy, so i would really like it with black cloth. Is there a way i can buy only front black cloth panel and put in on my cabinet?

Thank you very much for an answer

Richard

Hi Richard,

Glad you're liking it! Unfortunately you can't change the grill:

Great looking cabs in my home studio 😊

Sounding great.

I hope I’ll have enough power in the band with the Ampeg 100 V4B 100 wts.

Letting you know

Thanks for everything

I took a wander into the crowd during the show and was blown away by how good I sounded. It exceeded all of my expectations and it's the first time I've realised how much of a difference the cab makes (seems silly now)

Here's a quick note from last nights gig in Horten, Norway. Even though drums were involved it wasn't a particularly loud gig. Playing mostly jazz and ballads in a medium size cafe (about 200m2 I guess). I didn't even play through the PA, but 1 x BB3 with a 50 watt Ampeg PF-50T proved to plenty powerful for stuff like this. Goes to show that the 12XNs are easily driven with high sensitivity. And it sounds amazing too! The amp is lovely (apart from the rubbish EQ) with a bit of tube warmth and compression going on, and the BB3 delivers every nuance and articulation perfectly. I even had a few guys complementing me on my sound and playing after the show. Oddly enough, most of the girls seemed to enjoy the show, but somehow failed to comment on my sound and setup 😉

Very odd space to play in last night, those tables weren't there the last time we played this venue, if I'd known I'd have taken the super compact instead... but at least I could hear myself!
