Been using this setup lately.

They can be used upright too on a hard surface, but I find a warmer sound when used on the side on a carpeted stage.

Hello there! I hope you are well.

I haven't gotten back to you sooner since receiving my cab because I wanted to take the time to test it, especially in a concert setting. So it took me some time.

First of all, thank you very much. It's a really great cab (a Vertical 212 with two Alnico Cream and BN12 300s speakers and single AVD on top), beautifully made, very light, and easy to transport, which is very important when you're moving it around!

I'm also really happy with the mix of speakers; they both sound great.

However, I must admit that I am a bit disappointed with the AVD system. But maybe I'm using it wrong or my expectations were not right?

I thought it would be very non-directional, basically combining the advantages of a closed cab (bass presence) with those of an open cab (diffusion). I was also afraid that the single AVD would reduce the effect a little, but you told me it wouldn't.
But in concert/rehearsal situations, my cab is super directional. When I'm right in front of the cab and the Cream, I can hear myself very well, with lots of presence and high frequencies. But as soon as I move out of the direct field, I can hear myself much less, and the high frequencies are gone. Even if I'm 3 feet away from my cab, but slightly off to the side, and my second guitarist's Hot Rod is 13 feet away from me, but more directed towards me, I can hear him more than I can hear myself.

So there you have it, it seems like a strange sensation to me. Do you have an explanation or perhaps some advice? Does what I'm describing seem normal to you?

Hi Gregoire,

Sorry to hear you feel the AVD isn't working as well as it should - my best guess is that your expectations of the AVD are too much, because at the end of the day the forwards behaviour of the cone is barely changed vs a normal cab, but the AVD makes a big difference to the balance in the room. I suggest you move your cab further away from you and point your second guitarist's cab more away from you. If you're curious you can stuff the AVD with some cushions or pillows to block the mid/high output to hear if it makes a difference - I'd be very surprised if you don't notice a change then. Let me know what you find! Glad you like the cab otherwise.

The cab arrived today. I will spend the evening trying to manage my excitement while testing it.

The outer packaging had a little dent on one edge, but the inner safety cardboard edge was almost untouched, so kudos to your packaging!

VAT to Germany was around 220,- Euro, in case other customers ask you.
I'll give you an update once I tested the cab for a while. My first impression after 20 minutes playing is that any note I play is massaging my belly considerably more than the SVT 610 HLF.

My Big 24 arrived safe and sound yesterday. And it sounds incredible. I’m blown away by how something small relative to a traditional 810 fridge can sound so huge and monstrous. So huge yet reactive to my playing. My current band is a metallic hardcore project that tunes to drop B flat. The Big 24 handles the low tuning so well. During our initial gear talk, I failed to mention how low I tuned, but I’m guessing by the way the Big 24 handles the big string, it’s the best cab in your lineup for lower tunings? I’ll be grabbing my standard-tuned bass today and can’t wait to hear how good it sounds again. Since I’m used to sealed Ampeg cabs, I was a little worried that it’d take getting used to hearing a more modern cab, wondering if I should have gone with your Six10 instead. But after yesterday, I think your 12 speakers can do anything a bass player would want. With an SVT, P bass, and a couple of dirt pedals, the Big 24 is the perfect canvas for creating tones that fit in with the brands of yesteryear. I’m confident it would sound great with modern tones, too, if that was my style.

Thank you, Isaac, Alex, and the whole team at Barefaced. I’m 34 and have been playing bass since I was 12. Playing through your cab yesterday was one of my most memorable moments in 22 years of playing.

I have a pair of Big Baby 2s, driven by a TC RH750 amp with my Warwick Corvette active. I am oftem complimented on my sound - even by other bass players who only use tube amps!

I have a Barefaced Audio Super Compact, a single 12 inch 600w cab, that weighs in at 11kg/24lb. The sound quality is better than my old 810 (and my back is better too) and it turns out more volume than I would ever want on stage. They're not the cheapest, but they are well worth the money and the quality and sound are second to none.

11/10/25 - Big Baby 3, Big Twin 2, Three10T - USA

I own and love my 4 BF cabs. 2x Big Baby 3, 1x Big Twin 2, and a Three10T. I switch out for different venues and acoustics.

I'm also thinking of having you make me a One10 to fit atop my Three10. Same width. 4ohm total for both cabs. How much would that cost, and the estimated lead time?

Thanks for making us bassists sound even better. Your cabinets ROCK!!!

I have a Super Twin T with silver grill cloth. Paired with my 5-string basses and Bergantino HP Ultra head, it delivers a solid, well-voiced tone with enough headroom to handle all my indoor and outdoor gigs. I’m also pleased that a cab this capable is so easy to transport.
