Barefaced Bass - Ultra lightweight high power bass guitar speaker cabinets

Customer Feedback

10/3/19 - Upsetter 110 - UK

I have a GX British and am blown away with it. The dispersion and oomph is very impressive. So much so I just ordered another one! Opted for the 10" due to the dinky weight and size. It can sound a little brittle still with especially with Blackface type circuits but most likely will calm down once the speaker has been played in a bit. I suspect the 12" will be the most popular as most folk won't have experienced what the tiny GX is capable of

Just dropping a line to let you know that I had my first band experience with my One10 yesterday. Alex, this cabinet is perfect!

So far I had been using it on my own, for practice and I loved its sound. But yesterday in the jazz workshop was a revelation. The sound is incredibly homogeneous across the frequency range. Each note is tight, full-bodied, punchy, clear and accurate. I was playing my Hervé Prudent five-string Lolita electric double bass through an Ampeg PF-350.

You've found the perfect formula! I had never heard that sound in real life (I had on recordings but not in real life). I just had to roll off the bass to 10 o'clock and add a little mid on the PF-350 EQ

I realize I had been trying to achieve this sound with my generation one Big Baby (no tweeter) and it took me quite a lot of tweaking: switching the midrange driver to "flat", fitting my Markbass MoMark with a tube preamp, fiddling a lot with the EQ (quite a challenge for me: a four-band EQ including two semi-parametric!).
With the One10 it's all here, easy and straightforward. Congratulations and deep thanks Alex!

Hi,

Just thought I’d let you know that the Six10 arrived and it is amazing.

The sound of my SVT through it compared to two super compacts is difficult to explain but it’s basically the sound I had in my head when I wanted a bass tone.

One quick question though. What are the little ribbon tabs on the front for?

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,

Great! The tabs are in case you ever need to take the grill off (please don't though, unless something is broken!)

Best regards,

Alex

Picked up this today. Was not prepared for the punch it packs. Even with the low A of a Dingwall NG3 it handles great. Can’t wait to gig with this!

Currently on tour with the David Brighton Space Oddity Bowie Tribute show in New Zealand. The Six10 is doing the business!

Rehearsing with the TWO 10 again last night and weight and power aside the best thing about this little box is the tone. Warm and solid in the mix in a reasonably loud rock band.

Alex Claber, you was right and I was wrong. I bought a fender rumble head 500 watts (4 ohms), end of november 2018, to paired with this cab and the amp was not enough loud (250 watts in 8 ohms). The recommandation of Alex was to paired the SM with the Orange terror bass which i didn't buy like i was supposed. At this moment, I just wanted to save $$$. The terror bass has the ability to put the amp in 8 ohms and the SM has 600 watts RMS to offer in 8 ohms. The result is totally unbelievably loud and clear and the high performance tweeter on the SM adding just what I need for the high frequencies. Finally, i sold the fender rumble and my new Orange works likes a dream for me. Next step is to test live but hahaha, I'm not afraid at all 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Thank you very much for your support Alex and Barefaced team !!!

About to fire up this Six10 beast for the first time at band rehearsal. Gonna blow everyone away with awesome sound! As it said in the Barefaced instruction: turn it WAY up, then turn it down when the band complains 😄 Also trying out some DR neon strings, but I think they look a little tacky on my Pedulla

I am currently using a Barefaced Two10 along with my Darkglass Microtubes 900 as my main rig.

I love the sound of the Two10 as well as how light it is. Being able to carry everything I need in one trip from the car into the venue is awesome!

The Two10 arrived in great shape, thanks!  I’ll reserve comment on the sound until it fully breaks in, but so far so good!  This is now my 4th Barefaced cabinet that I own (not including the One10 that I bought but resold due to needing more output for my situation).  I still find a use for each and every one of them. I ordered the Two10 because my Super Twin and Big Baby 2 don’t fit in the trunk (boot) of my new car (2017 Mustang convertible).  For the record, the Two10 just BARELY fits ;) I’ve attached a picture. It’s pushed as far forward as it will go. I think that is probably the largest bass cabinet on the market that will fit in that trunk. I’m SURE it’s the largest SOUNDING cabinet that will fit in that trunk by far.

One comment on the padded cover:  I prefer the covers for my ST and BB2 with the Velcro strap on the bottom to help protect that side and keep the cover from coming off.  I would have liked that feature in the Two10 cover as well. Small grievance though.

Thanks again!

Thank you for your advice. I am enjoying the Two10 more and more with every gig and getting lots of compliments, especially on a recording date, the engineer loved the tone.
