Customer Feedback

Thank you for your advice. I am enjoying the Two10 more and more with every gig and getting lots of compliments, especially on a recording date, the engineer loved the tone.

I received the cab yesterday!

Waouh the first sessions have been so good!

It sounds incredible, no words, warm and clean and super powerful!

And I've got the feelings it's going to be better and better...

Thank you very much again ^__^

Cabs arrived this morning safe and sound. I love the tone! Cant wait to use them on gigs this week. I think I’m more of the coloured tone type, these have the right amount of honk that I like to my ears compared to the Big Baby 2. Will let you know my thoughts after my gigs.

With a few gigs done, I’m totally stoked! The tone they have meets the tone I have in my head more than any other cab I’ve owned, including my two Big Baby II's. The rest of the band all commented on how they love the new One10's. Big and tight bass, great mids that cut and are defined. The mellow top is not a problem, as I can push the tops on my Bass preamp if needed. So with two One10's, Aguilar TH500, Sadowsky Bass, my sound is really happening. I think I'll have to consider moving on my two Big Baby II's as at the moment I cant see myself going back to them, most of my gigs have PA support, It’s really only if I have a large outdoor gig that I might need something bigger speaker wise. I haven’t had to push the amp too hard so far. Have you had feedback/experience with two One10's stacked on a really big stage? I’m wondering where the tipping point for needing bigger cabs is with this mini stack. Keen to hear your response. Thanks, so happy!

I just received my Two10 and it looks awesome! Can’t wait to get home and play it!

A very sincere thank you to you and everyone at Barefaced for making such excellent cabinets and providing outstanding service.

As an owner of a Big Baby II, a Super Midget and now a Two10, I am able to proudly say nothing but Barefaced for me.

Thank you again.

Love it :)

I’ve done a number of rehearsals it now with both of my bands and at gigs and it has performed flawlessly. I had thought that I would need at least two, but frankly it has been well loud enough on it’s own, even though my amp is essentially operating at 50% power into 8 ohms and i’m not pushing it at all.

I don’t need 2 but I want another :) I think the extra cab will give me a bit more dispersion and will also look great :)

One thing i’m still not sure about is that if anything the cab could do with a bit more bottom end wallop. I’m wondering if a super compact might be the way to go? Having said that I like the tweeter!

My Super Twin arrived  safe and sound a couple of weeks ago and had its first outing in The Atlantic Inn Porthleven last Saturday.

It sounded excellent !! and approved by the rest of the band including the Noisy Bugger with the broken ankle!

Many thanks for designing and manufacturing a superb cab.

First of all I’d just like to say how thrilled I am with my Four10 which I bought off of you at the tail end of last year. I currently have some bits up for sale to fund a Two10 to add to it ;) I’ve read on previous threads on BC about the tolex covering peeling which I believed you sorted with some better quality glue.

However my valve amp kicks out a lot of heat and I noticed at last rehearsal it was causing the covering to bubble up a little. This is by no means a moan more so I just wanted to make you aware of it. Can you maybe recommend a heatproof mat or similar to separate the head from the cab?

I noticed on the owners group on Facebook people were talking about vibrations from the cab wearing valves out quicker. Whilst I haven’t noticed excessive vibration maybe some sort of a mat could serve a dual purpose. Let me know what you think

Mark

Hi Mark,
Glad you're enjoying the cab! That's an unusual tolex thing - haven't heard about that before. Any foam will act as insulation and vibrations do wear out valves so there's no harm damping amp vibrations with foam (even if the cab isn't vibrating it's generating acoustic output which could set the amp off). The denser and slower rebounding the foam, the better for damping.
Best regards,
Alex

15/12/17 - Super Compact - USA

I just realized that tomorrow (Dec. 15) marks the 1 year anniversary of receiving my very first Barefaced cabinet! On the eve of such a monumental celebration, I thought that it would be appropriate to contact you guys and express a few things.

First and foremost--THANK YOU!!! My Barefaced Super Compact (C187) has been the best bass speaker cabinet that I've ever owned! I've used it consistently (pretty much exclusively) throughout the course of the entire year and on every single occasion, find myself grinning ear to ear with satisfaction and loving it even more! Without fail, on every single gig, someone will ask me about it. Everyone from bandmates to sound guys to audience members wants to know what it is and how "that" sound could come from such a compact package! The kicker is when I insist that they pick it up with one hand! You should see their faces! Love it every time!

Throughout the year, the cab has been tested at venues and volumes ranging the entire gamut--tiny, quiet loungy bar and restaurant gigs, full-on outdoor rock stages, medium-sized indoor club stages with full pro FOH, weddings, even an outdoor running marathon on the beach for 20,000 plus people! There was not a single instance when the Barefaced cabinet did not perform flawlessly! One of my favorite moments was during an all-day annual Surf music festival with a notorious exceptional backline, when my little Super Compact held its own against 2 15" bass cabinets, and 6 (yes, 6!) vintage JBL 15" guitar cabs! No one could believe it! Every bass player in the room wanted that cab!

I've used a lot of different gear over the course of my career, but I've never felt so supportive of any one company until Barefaced. Sometimes I just want to scream it from the rooftops!!! Barefaced make modern musical bass miracles. Period. I can't tell you how many people I've encouraged to visit the website, watch Alex's in-depth videos, and read the insightful, deep articles online. The company truly is a revelation! I really would like to do whatever I can to help promote the company. What is the best way? Continue to post on social media?

Now, the big question is....what should I get next??? Honestly, the Super Compact really covers just about any gig I could imagine. But, I want to continue to support the company and promote your amazing and revolutionary work. What I can potentially envision is a situation where I may need to push just a bit more air. Just a tad louder and bigger, if you will. The question is, do I add another Super Compact and make a stack? Do I go for the Super Twin? Or, do I opt to have an entirely different sound at my disposal and go for something (Four 10 or Six 10) that utilizes the 10" drivers?

Just to reiterate...I play Surf primarily, along with a lot of Exotica/Lounge and favor a "retro" sound with very little high end and very warm, round bottom using Fender Precisions with flats and the tone rolled almost completely off.

What do you think might be the next logical louder cab to have in my arsenal? Also, I've been wondering if you guys would ever consider covering a cab in blonde tolex? The backline of the aforementioned Surf festival with all the 15" speakers is exclusively blonde and I've always thought it would be so cool to have something that would match!

In closing...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I cannot thank you enough for your amazing product! I am so beyond a satisfied customer! Please do not ever hesitate to ask if there's anything I can do to help you guys in any way. Alright, off to tonight's gig with my trusty Super Compact! (we're doing the entire Ventures Christmas album!) : )

Warmly and Sincerely,

Jonpaul

Hi Jonpaul,
Regarding another cab, you could go with another Super Compact to make a modular rig. Or if you'd like something with blonde tolex we could do a custom Four10 or Six10 for you (OMG, the latter would be EPIC!)
Best regards,
Alex

I really enjoy the cab, the dispersion is great.. no more finding a sweet spot to be heard.

Indoor i've got more power then i can handle ;) (without getting feedback).

Can't wait for outdoor festivals next summer, should be a blast.

The clarity (tone) is also superb; something i really dig with double bass.

Thanks for the input on the HF; my double bass doesn't have allot of treble, that'll explain why i wont hear much difference.

The cab is sounding amazing and doing great performance wise!

I am even thinking of purchasing a Two10 as well for small gigs/rehearsals and for the flexibility, I'm just getting the funds together and hopefully selling some old cabs I don't use anymore. Just used it for a session the other day with an old Marshall Superbass head and it really brought out all of the cool character from it while maintaining a really solid low end, didn't even have to bother using a DI!

Hi Alex and all at Barefaced, absolutely loving the cab so far! Played a couple of festivals so far this summer and my on stage sound has never been better. I’ve done a few social media posts about my new rig, and have been fairly active on Talkbass pimping out Barefaced.
