Buying Process
Here at Barefaced Audio we've been selling direct to customers all over the world since the first cab went out in late 2008. If you're used to buying things online, it's a little different because we like to get involved to make sure you're buying the right product for your needs.
1. Order online via the online shop - or email us first for help.
Feel free to order online as usual but we may throw some questions your way afterwards to confirm that the cab will do what you want. Alternatively, email us or use the "contact us" form before placing an order and we'll be able to confirm your choice or you help you make the right choice.
It's the boss here, Alex, that deals with all the buying advice because he's got that strange ability to get inside your sonic needs based on his experience as a musician and engineer - so sometimes it may take quite a few days to reply. If you don't hear anything back, check your spam filter or your email server (some block our replies) and if there's nothing there do feel free to chase us up!
When you select your "region" the price will change to reflect the tax and shipping. Only UK customers will be charged 20% VAT - for all other customers we remove this charge, so please select the correct region. We manually check that the region matches the shipping destination when we process orders recived through our site.
Please note that we are based in the UK so all transactions happen in GBP (UK £, pounds sterling), and your card or paypal account will be charged in this currency. Your card provider, bank or paypal will do the currency conversion for US $ or Euros or one of the dozens of currencies our customers use.
(Some customers will be shown an INDICATIVE price in their local currency - this seems to be a feature of Shopify's online shop platform but I believe this depends on your location and browser settings. This is not what you will be charged, you will be charged in our UK currency and if your card provider / paypal is in a different currency then they will do the conversion at their rate, so the actual price will be slightly different to the indicative price.)
2. We will then build your cab (or fit the right knobs to your pedal)
All cabs are made to order, so nothing leaves here immediately upon receiving your order. The production process takes 1-3 weeks depending on how busy we are and sometimes there's an order queue waiting to start production. Click over to this page to check the current lead time.
3. We will then pack and ship your cab
If you're in the UK then your cab will be sent via DPD. If you're overseas then your cab will be sent via DHL. Expect updates to come directly from them via email.
If you're local (Brighton-ish) then feel free to get in touch and come and collect your cab, and then we can refund you the cost of the postage and packing.
4. Your cab will then be delivered
Follow your tracking info to see when you need to be in to receive your order. We're happy to send it to an alternate address, if that's easier for you. If there is any tax or duty payable then DHL will invoice you directly. If there are clearance issues you'll probably be contacted directly by DHL. If you need any help, get in touch with us - we deal with this every week, to countries all over the world.
