15:24

We started out with fifteens and now we're back with a pair of epic 15" cabs! The 15:24 brings the tone you loved in the great 15"s of the '70s (the ones with massive magnets) but in a compact 1x15" that's so light you'll assume it's empty!

If you're here, you probably know why you want this - the midrange bark and slam of a light cone strong magnet 15" (this is not your el-cheapo beginner boom box sound), the depth in the lows to thunder and the right balance of fatness and thickness to say I am a BASS guitar, and enough treble bite and clarity that everyone wonders why this big speaker doesn't ever sound muddy. Enough thermal and mechanical power handling to handle loud gigs and powerful but if you need more output then stack a pair or get the 30:24, its 2x15" big brother.

24" wide to sit perfectly under SVT's and other big tube heads (valves if you're this side of the Atlantic) - not as wide as the biggest Bassman amps but close enough to still look cool (and fit through doorways).

Pairing with other Barefaced cabs:

First off - don't expect the 15:24 to go lower than a BB3 or BT3 - that's not how things work! But what the 15:24 can do is add a wodge of low-end and rounder yet punchy mids to other Barefaced cabs. By mixing drivers/cabs you'll sacrifice some transient immediacy but we're not talking blurry mess, just extra thickness in many contexts. Obviously there's a power handling / impedance puzzle to solve so here's some recommended pairings:

Two10S@4 + 15:24 = 750W / 2.7 ohm  
Two10(8) +15:24 = 1000W / 4 ohm 
Three10 + 15:24 = 1100W / 2.7 ohm
Four10(8) + 15:24 = 1200W / 4 ohm
Four10(4) +15:24 = 1500W / 2.7 ohm
Six10 + 15:24 = 1500W / 2.7 ohm

Super Mini + 15:24 = 1200W / 4 ohm
Super Compact + 15:24 = 1200W / 4 ohm
Super Twin + 15:24 = 1500W / 2.7 ohm

Usurper + 15:24 = a badass bass/baritone rig!

(NB: You can turn a 15:24 on its side to stack on top of a Super Twin or Three10)

How did we get here - and is here where you want to be?

There's some fun Barefaced history behind this model. Our first production cab was a very similar 1x15" called the Compact - it was a simplified version of our first prototype cab, the Big One, which was an oversized 15+6" 2-way design. The Compact was super popular because it was loud, fat and pretty honest.

When we designed the Super Compact we took that concept and kept it loud and fat but made it more honest so you'd hear more of your tone and less of the speaker's - and then we designed the Two10 which went in the other direction, so more warmth and fatness and colouration from the speakers/cab.

Between the 10CR and 12XN models that covers 95% of what bassists want tonally but for that special 5% we're doing the 15:24 and 30:24 for limited runs. IF you're not sure if that sound is for you, drop us an email and we'll help!

And yes, we do a T version too - some people (including me in the past) would have said that a conventional tweeter doesn't make sense on a 15" bass cab because there's too big a step change in dispersion patterns in the treble region. But it makes for the baddest slap sound ever - proper thumpin' and pluckin' fatness plus zing.
