Hi,

I have been using a Two10 cab (no tweeter) with a 500 watt head. The cab is AWESOME, but the head recently died and I have to replace it. I am looking at an 800 watt head, but I am fearfull that I could break the cab with 800 watts. I do not use any pedals/effects, but I do use active basses, and will normally bump the bass control up. Is it a bad idea to use an 800 watt head with this cab?

I'm not sure you might be able to help, but figured there was no harm in asking?

Best regards,

Troy

Hi Troy,

It's usually fine, it just requires some awareness!

Hi guys,

Just a quick note, I received the 2x10, and it sounds fantastic.

Attached photo is my rig.

I have finally had the chance to play through the Two10ST at a decent volume practicing in my 3 piece band.

Although I was expecting it to be superb because of the reputation, I was still blown away by the performance.

Playing through it in vertical/portrait position I was astounded by the clarity and presence.

The tweeter adds more upper register presence and clarity without sounding too screechy or reedy.

I received compliments from both the guitarist and drummer saying how much easier it is to hear everything I'm playing without the amp having to be cranked too loud, which I have had to do with a lot of 4x10s twice the size.

Overall I am very impressed and very, very pleased with the cab.

Many thanks,

Joe

I bought 3 Two10 cabs from you a few years ago. I absolutely love them, and they sound great with literally every head I’ve played through them.

I use all 3 cabs 10%, 2 cabs 70%, and 1 cab 20% of the time. I also play upright bass, and even more of the time play a Yamaha Silent Bass (SLB300).

As much as I love the 10’s for electric bass, I’m thinking I want to try the 12’s for upright. I’m wondering what your recommendation would be. I’m normally playing an 800 watt class D Mesa head.

Thanks,

Keith

PS: any idea on shipping , tax, tariff fees?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Keith,

That's great to hear! I think the Super Mini T is the most obvious cab for upright. Do you use an outboard preamp for the upright and/or go through the Mesa's preamp? Shipping is included, as always. USA tariffs now add about 10%.

Best regards,

Alex

Hey!

Loving the new Cab. I had a question about the”Barefaced” emblem. Can I (how) easily remove it and put it on the cab so it is not always sideways :)

Mark

Hi Mark,

We've got a bit on our site detailing queries about removing the badge:

Hello!

I recently acquired the Darkglass Anagram (holy cow). I'm running it into the bypass on my Quilter Bass Block 802. I have the Two10 set to 4 ohm (not 12), and I have the Volume at noon.

The Anagram is awesome, but I have a concern when stacking gain on it. I'm not having volume issues, but I noticed if I put a Micro Tubes block in front of a tube amp block, it greatly increases the output and is wonderfully loud and articulate.

Am I at risk of frying the Two10 (or the Quilter even)? I want to exercise caution if I need to. I also have a Super Twin, but I've grown to prefer your 10s. :)

Thank you for your time,

Seth

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Seth,

You'll probably be fine with cleaner sounds but if you're running so much distortion that you can't tell if the speakers are overdriving then it's easy to wreck the speakers. Switch the cab to 12 ohms if you're going to do that. Add another Two10 or Four10 if you need more output!

Best regards,

Alex

I did get the speaker. It is fantastic

I haven't really come to a definitive conclusion, except that the Two10ST is a marvellous bass cab and a lot of fun to play!

Oh, as for the 610 having speakers closer to your ear: I put the Two10 on top of the Ampeg 610, and it was hardly any difference to it standing on the floor. So the dispersion of the cab is really, really good, also vertically!

My Two10S arrived bang on time and in perfect condition.

It looks and feels amazing and unbelievably light.

I won't be able to try it out until later but I'm sure it's going to be stunning.

Please thank everyone there for building and getting this to me so quickly, it's got its first gig tomorrow night so straight in and no messing around!

Cheers,

Leo

03/12/25 - Two10ST - Germany

The cab arrived today. I will spend the evening trying to manage my excitement while testing it.

The outer packaging had a little dent on one edge, but the inner safety cardboard edge was almost untouched, so kudos to your packaging!

VAT to Germany was around 220,- Euro, in case other customers ask you.
I'll give you an update once I tested the cab for a while. My first impression after 20 minutes playing is that any note I play is massaging my belly considerably more than the SVT 610 HLF.

I have a first generation Two10 that I bought direct from you in 2017, which I absolutely love but it has a silver fabric speaker cover.

I was wondering if there would be a possibility that I could purchase a metal grill for it as I prefer this look.

Is this something that I could buy from you?

Kindest regards,

Jon

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Jon,

Glad you're loving the cab! Sorry, you can't change the grill - more info here: https://barefacedaudio.com/pages/cloth-to-steel-and-vice-versa

I have a Super Twin and a Two10. I've been considering getting a real deal tube amp, like a SVT or Super Bassman. Either cab should be okay with either amp, right?

Is there one of the two y'all prefer through your cabs? Might be a huge loaded question, so you don't have to go into much detail. They both have adjustable ohm settings and I should manage.

BTW - I love the Two10 so much, I might get a second one with a tweeter. I might sell the Super Twin in advance. I love it, as well, but I'm preferring 10s these days and also prefer the regular tolex type cabs like the Two10.

Seth

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Seth,

It entirely depends on what you want tonally! We are just in the process of launching an SVT width version of the Super Twin so it looks better with big valve amps on it. But it sounds like the Two10 is more your thing, in which case adding a second will give you a great modular rig.

Best regards,

Alex

30/08/25 - Two10 + One10 - Sweden

I got the Two10 about three months ago, and I am getting tired of lugging it back and forth to the rehearsing space - because I cannot be without this sound - so I decided to get a One10 for home practice. And maybe even for a stack if we have a HIGH volume gig.

I have to say, the Two10 has blown away me, the drummer, and everybody else in the band. It is almost a bit silly, but it has opened up a new door for me, creatively on the bass guitar. So thanks for making good gear!

Tomas

The cab has arrived! It’s a thing of beauty. I’ve had a quick test with my SVT and ‘64 Gibson EB0 and it sounds so sweet!

This is a perfect rig for my needs right now.

Many thanks to you and everyone at Barefaced. You are all legends 🙌

Got my Two10 last month, after several years with a couple of Super Midgets. I think the Two10 is even better! Love the tone.

05/08/25 - One10 + Two10 - USA

I have a Barefaced One10 I bought from you several years ago and it is just the best thing I've ever gotten!

For years I ran it with a Walter Woods amp, and when that failed I moved to an Acoustic Image and it just sounds wonderful (I play jazz double bass).

Ran into a few gigs lately where I needed a bit more volume than the One10 could produce - I saw a Barefaced Two10 for sale on TalkBass, and I bought it, thinking if I loved the One10, the Two10 would be similar just with more power handling (and air moving) capability. Cab arrived (mint) and I found that to my ear it is much more darkly colored than my One10. I switched back and forth with my Acoustic Image first plugged in the One10, then the Two10 and the latter is just much darker, muddy and undefined.

Is this just the nature of that cab - or perhaps it is just my particular sound? I could combat it somewhat with EQ, but it just doesn't compare to what I get from the One10. The Two10 sounds incredible with an electric bass, but just doesn't seem to work like the One10 does with my acoustic. Is this all my perception, or is there a difference between the One10 and Two10 for 'coloration'?

What cab might you recommend for the clearest, full-range, uncoloured reproduction of my acoustic sound?

I know that sound can be so subjective, but thought I would ask.

Thanks much!

Alex

I’ve got 3 Two10 cabs. I really like having the portability and love the sound!

Great with Aguilar Db 751 or Orange AD200. To be honest the Barefaced 10s have a character that seems to match well with any head. I have also had good tones with Mesa 800+ and Bergantino Forte. You can't really go wrong with those cabs.
