06/07/24 - Four10 + Big Baby 3 - UK
Hi Alex,
I already have one of your Four10 cabs (and it’s fantastic) but I’m thinking of making a change in my rig to using a Quad Cortex, largely due to wanting to downsize and simplify (current rig is two seperate stacks, one doing regular bass and the other doing octave up “guitar” stuff a la Royal Blood etc). I’d like to save space and my back!
In doing this I’m looking at needing an FRFR cab (I intend to combine both bass and “guitar” signals into it so I need a full range flat response cab) and I’m interested in the Big Baby 3. My question is what power amp would you recommend for driving the BB3? I had been looking at a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170 in order to be able to mount it on a pedalboard but will this have sufficient headroom? I’m normally playing pubs so the rig needs to be able to fill the room without PA support. We’re not super loud but we’re playing heavy rock and lowest tuning is Db. If you have better recommendations for this please let me know.
Many thanks for your time and I hope this question doesn’t seem too ridiculous!
Andy

Hi Andy,
Glad the Four10 is performing well! A BB3 will certainly do the FRFR thing - and we're just announced pre-orders on our first amp which will work well for it, so it depends on how much of a hurry you're in:
