Super Compact / Super Compact T

Preposterous output and clarity from a single 12XN driver.

Can replace cabs twice its size and with more than twice the cone area, thanks to the huge cone excursion, massive power handling and high sensitivity. Even smaller and lighter than the Big Baby 3 due to the minimalist design - no crossover, no HF driver or tweeter, just clean highs that roll off smoothly in the mid-upper treble region. And a smaller enclosure due to the more conventional bass cab sound in the lows = more fatness and thump.

Now with our low distortion tweeter, custom crossover and full HF control for increased brightness and extended treble clarity - but the same tone as a standard Super Compact when you turn the HF control on a Super Compact T to zero.

Also now available - the Super 3rd. This is the Super Compact reshaped to stack neatly with a Super Twin, to give you an awesome 3x12XN stack (hence the "3rd" in the name, it's the third 12XN in the stack). This is also customisable with a tweeter and HF control. The Super 3rd weighs the same but the dimensions are 39cm 48cm x 34cm or 15.5" x 19" x 13.5" (H x W x D). The strap handle is moved to the top because that's more ergonomic for lifting it onto the Super Twin.

We prefer the Super Compact's form factor as a standalone cab or as a two cab stack but the Super 3rd is such a cool way to give your Super Twin rig more height and even more output - looks and sounds epic! And now that so many amps will run down to a 2.7 or 2 ohm minimum load they can drive a 3x12XN rig happily.

Need more output? Add a second Super Compact to make a modular Super Twin or a Super Mini to make a versatile modular rig with three size options.

Hello Barefaced!

I have a Super Compact Cab (600w/8ohm - SNo: C099) that I bought used in Toronto Canada a few months ago. I absolutely LOVE this cab - the size and weight are wonderful and the sound is superb. I use it with a variety of smaller heads including a Mesa Subway D800 and a Trace Elf mini-head. I sometimes pair it the a MarkBass 15 cab driven by the D800 and it gives me lots of clean volume for bigger gigs. 

If I was to buy another Barefaced Cab to pair with my 8 ohm Super Compact, wondering what you would recommend? I have been looking for another Super Compact but they don't seem to come on the market much and certainly not in Canada.

Please let me know your thoughts... LOVE your products and looking to expand!

Glad the Super Compact is performing well. If you love what it does then get another Super Compact, if you'd like something very similar but even smaller get a Super Mini. We send cabs to Canada all the time, so there's no problem getting one to you!

My new Super Compact was delivered on Monday, and got the chance to try it for the first time at rehearsal tonight.

I was blown away by the sound. Such a difference from my old practice 210, and every bit as good (actually better) a sound as my 810 in that tiny little package. An absolute blinder.

I have a Super Compact which I love and I  am in the market for a new amp. I've been tempted to buy the Trickfish Bullhead .5 for quite some time, but it runs at 700 watt through 4 ohm, which is 100 watt more than the Super Compact is built for. Do you guys think my Super Compact could handle that amp or will I fry the cab if I try to pair those two?

Hi Olle,

700W into 8 ohms would be fine unless you were really pushing things very hard and ignoring bad noises. However it's only 365W into 8 ohms so there's nowhere near too much power. What amp are you using now?

I’m loving the cab even more! I have a quick sound geek question. What is your opinion on tilting back a cabinet? I’m playing some gigs at a particularly problematic sounding stage and in the past I tilted my cab back and it helped.

Hi Greg,

Great to hear! If tilting the cab works, then by all means do it - you'll change the polar pattern which has pros and cons but you'll also change the mechanical connection with the stack, which is probably what's helped you if the lows were too boomy. The Super Compact has wider dispersion than most bass cabs which makes it less problematic on stages with bad acoustics, so if it was more of a midrange mud than than bass boom situation you may not need to tilt it at all. But trust your ears (with a degree of scepticism)!

I absolutely love my SC, and have gigged it with great success. So much so that I sold off my other cabs. My SC will never be for sale.

I found a used, well cared for One10 and love that also. I have ordered a One10 this morning to pair with that, and plan to run them in parallel.

The plan: The 2x One10 stack will be paired with a Mesa D-800, playing a Ric 4003 with TI flats. The amp is set flat, with the “voicing” rolled off; I have discovered that setting most closely matches the SC using a Mesa D-800+ (also set flat). The guitar is always on vintage mode, and the Effectrode (model PC-2A) compressor is always on regardless of rigs.

I play in a Beatles cover duo, with volumes kept reasonable, and as clean as I can get for the most part.

May I have a blessing on this order, and on the rig?

Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my Super Compact bass cab! It's amazing! I noticed that you now offer your Activier powered cabinet in the One10 cab for bass. Looks awesome, but I worry that only 100w @8 ohms won't give me enough headroom for bass. But if you were to beef up the power output of the Activier built in amplifier and offer it in a powered Big Baby 3, I would snap that up immediately and love you forever! Just saying!

I'm enjoying gigging my Super Twin, Super Compact and BB2. They sound as good as they ever had but cosmetically they are starting to look a little rough around the edges. Could you recommend a suitable textured paint so I can touch them up?

We can sell you some of our paint - it's custom made for us so I don't know of anything else you can buy that'll work. The texture is all in the technique though - it's the same paint on the outside and the baffle and ports etc.

I ordered this One10 cab to use primarily for personal practice in a small room, but also (if it works out well) in rehearsals with a band (all acoustic except me) and even small gigs. I already own 2 Super Compacts, bought from you 6 or 7 years ago, but I also wanted the sound of a 10" speaker.

My Super Compact 12XN is an exceptional bass cabinet: lightweight, incredibly loud, and highly durable. Even at high volumes, it delivers undistorted sound with impressive low-end response. One cabinet is sufficient to play with a band without a PA system, but stacking two or three SCs further enhances the sound. Even in extreme cases, no more than three cabinets are needed to amplify a bass guitar at high volume with deep lows in a large space. This aligns with the philosophy of custom shops and boutique manufacturers, who aim for maximum sound pressure with minimal size or weight.

While the cabinet and finish are robust, the SC is not fully road-proof. Transport can lead to finish damage. For personal transport, a cover suffices, but for travel in a van, trailer, truck, or airplane, a flight case is necessary.

With a sturdier design and improved materials, the Super Compact would be perfect for intensive use and transport without compromising its performance.

I like to buy me a second one for the gigs am playing now. 

I am very satisfied with the sound and I think with two my bass will sound perfect. 

But any advice from you will be appreciated. What is the best price?
