Last year I bought a Four10 from you. I absolutely love it. But I was thinking about a 6x10. My question is can I add a Two10 to this rig? I have the 8 ohm cab now. I run either a GK Legacy 800 or a GK 1001RB. Both cabs are capable of 4ohms. Both are highly 800 watts at 4 ohm. The legacy can go to 2ohms.

Hi Matt,
Glad you're loving the Four10! Yes, you can add a Two10S. Switch it to 12 ohms to stack on the Four10 and have a 6x10CR rig with 4 ohm impedance and all six drivers sharing the power equally. And on its own you can switch it to 4 ohm to free up more amp headroom or keep it at 12 ohms to pull the power back to about 2/3 of the 8 ohm power rating.

Hi Alex!
Thank you for getting back to me.
This is my fourth Barefaced purchase and the Four10 is high quality, just like the other cabs.
Because I play in bands with different styles of music, I like being able to bring the equipment that I think will work well with the situation. This definitely has a different sound than the Supertwin (which I fully knew going into this). And that was the reason I bought it.
I can EQ it pretty easily to get what I'm looking for. Adding a boost around 1500-2000Hz gets me in the ballpark, just from playing around a little last night. I had to do it real quietly because my wife was sleeping, and so I really need to get it up to volume and try again. And I understand the horn might not even touch that range. I think I was just curious about making the mod. It just sounded slightly 'muffled' out of the box (which could be my hearing from playing decades of drums) and I was wondering about opening it up a little. That's the best way to convey what I was hearing. Please don't take that the wrong way, I know it's me, not the cab. I think maybe it's not a good match the Genzler Magellan 800? It sounded a little better with the Mark Bass. And I have a Reeves amp but it's in the shop getting fixed, that's a totally different beast, and I really want to try that set-up.
Because I ordered the 4ohm model, I can't really add another 4ohm cabinet. I haven't done the math on how the power would be divided up among the speakers if I added a 12 ohm Two10ST. But I was really just looking to bring the one cabinet to a gig.
I haven't taken it to practice yet. And if I've learned anything, it's that gear sounds much different there than in my loft.
This email might sound silly, I might be asking about something the cab wasn't made to do. I get that the mid-range response is different. So, it's on me. I know I'll find the right EQ and head combo and be rocking away with this thing in no time.
I love your stuff! It sounds good and I'm too old to drag around an Ampeg fridge.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
Cool, glad you're pleased with what we're doing! I wouldn't make any judgements based on using it that quietly - human ears are too non-linear in their response when you're quiet vs loud. The tweeter starts working higher than that and the 10CR drivers have plenty of about in the 1-2kHz region so the sound is available there.
Let me know how it sounds in band practice!

The Four10 arrived a few days ago band on estimated wait time. I had first run though in the practice room last night.
It delivered everything I’d hoped it would. More low, more highs, more clarity but still part of a cohesive wall of sound.
It paired up really well with the Matamp and its 4x10 which was a touch duller and maybe rounder/ slower in transients (isn’t describing sound fun).
Anyway just wanted to swing by and say thanks for the patience with the advice on sound and size, it fitted perfectly in the Mercedes A200 boot :)

Hi Alex,
I already have one of your Four10 cabs (and it’s fantastic) but I’m thinking of making a change in my rig to using a Quad Cortex, largely due to wanting to downsize and simplify (current rig is two seperate stacks, one doing regular bass and the other doing octave up “guitar” stuff a la Royal Blood etc). I’d like to save space and my back!
Hi Andy,
Glad the Four10 is performing well! A BB3 will certainly do the FRFR thing - and we're just announced pre-orders on our first amp which will work well for it, so it depends on how much of a hurry you're in:

I’ve got a Four10 and it’s unbelievably good. Incredible sound and stupidly loud. I don’t even know why the Six10 exists to be honest because a 1000w Four10 is enough, trust me.

04/01/24 - Four10 + Radical 212H - USA
Greetings, Barefaced!
I have purchased a Four10 and a Radical 212H (with two neo-creambacks). I am very happy with them both. The problem is, I can't play bass and guitar at the same time. So, I bought a Boss OC-5 and that gets me close. I use it to split my guitar signal into a "bass" signal, too. The "guitar" signal runs through my guitar rig and into the Radical, and then "bass" signal runs through my bass rig into the Four10.
So far, this setup is working better than I expected and is SO FUN to play through! My question is: is there an optimal way to configure the two cabs? Right now, I have them both on the floor, with Four10 on left and Radical on right. I've been thinking about stacking them with the Radical on the bottom (because it's wider) and the Four10 on top. But, my brain thinks having the bass cab under the guitar cab would be best.
Since both cabs are designed to disperse sound across the room, it makes sense to me that they should be stacked so that the "center" of both cabs is the same. But, I'm sure there are factors I'm not considering that might be more obvious to you all. So, any thoughts on how best to use both Four10 and Radical cabs at the same time on the same source?
Thank you in advance for any insight you're able to share!
Matt Wolff
Hi Matt,
That sounds fun! I think the key thing to remember with this is that the cabs are not dealing with the same sources, so you can really place them wherever you want. I'd be inclined to separate them further so your ears find it easier to separate the two sounds because they're coming from different locations. Or if you want them to sound more like one big sound, put them close together. You can try stacking them either way too. The room will change things quite a lot too.
Best regards,
Alex

Hello, I hope all is well! I have owned Two10 and Four10 cabs of yours and they were fantastic. The Two10 seemed like I needed to push it a little harder than I wanted too, and the Four10 was a bit much and would get a little loud before I hit the sweet spot.
I was curious if you would be up for building a vertical Three10 cabinet. It would get the sound up higher without being so tall it gets tippy, still light enough to one hand it, and a perfect match for all these class d heads that do 7-800 watts into 2-2.67 ohms. Fantastic one cab solution for all small to medium sized stages.
You could also use the same finish you do on the 12XN cabs for extra durability. Please let me know your thoughts.
Mike C
Hi Mike,
I know what you mean, it's something I've pondered before - but I think the 2.7 ohm impedance would make it too niche a product. However, we've got quite a few people using One10 + Two10S stacks, which is basically a modular version that gives you three sizes of rig - would that work for you?
Best regards,
Alex

Loving the Four10, took it out for the first gig 2 weeks ago. Heard it through the support band first, then got up and played through an AG700. Really happy with the cab thank you!

I currently have a One10 and Four10 i’m using with an Aguilar AG700 and Noble Preamp. I love the sound and tones I can get from it. I have an Ampeg PF-20T incoming that should pair nicely with the One10 for a smaller rig. I’d like to get an Ampeg Heritage SVT at some point and they only run at 4 and 2 ohms, so i’d need to couple the Four10 with a Two10 in order to run it (or just a Two10 on its own at 4 ohms). I also like the idea of have 2 One10’s for a nice 4 ohm stack.
Thanks for your help. I love the cabs.

Also letting you know the Four10 cab is awesome and really loving it.
I’m trying to sell a couple of other items as I’m keen to add a 210S early in the new year.
I’ll be back in touch for that.
Thanks and kind regards

the 4x10 Is ace, just would like to add a cab to get the max out of my Eden 400, do you think the 275 watt is enough to drive the 4x10 ,I have not used it on a gig as yet so not sure ,if not could you recommend a 2x10 that would complement your 4x10,Rich
Alex responds: The Four10 will certainly go loud with your Eden! I'm a big fan of the modularity of a Two10S+Four10 stack because you get to use the Two10S or the Four10 or the two cab stack. You might not need the Two10S (gigging will show you if you do) but it's certainly a v nice addition.

The 4x10 is indeed superb, does everything it says on the tin, it really is a fantastic cab.

I thought I just drop you a line about how much I dig my Four10 after its initial run of gigs. Two very different ones- one on a large outdoor festival stage and one playing on a lawn below a pavilion to keep us dry during rain.
What can I say- coupled with my Orange AD200B, it does everything I hoped for and wanted out of replacing my Super Twin (which was amazing in its own way). It really punches, can get super deep super loudly, is an easy schlep and sounds perfect no matter where I am in relation to it. It’s very easy to sound good and hear myself clearly in a band mix, audience digs it (so I heard after the show we played on the lawn, at the other one folks most likely heard the PA).
So, I’m very happy already, and I will probably only get happier after having spent some time with the Four10 and the drivers have loosened up.

I own a Four10. Numbers said it all for me to try em out. 30 day return policy got me to have a go, since there wasn't one around to try, but only one rehearsal was enough to decide that's the cab for me. I was in search of small, powerful all around cab and that's what I have now.

First of all I’d just like to say how thrilled I am with my Four10 which I bought off of you at the tail end of last year. I currently have some bits up for sale to fund a Two10 to add to it ;) I’ve read on previous threads on BC about the tolex covering peeling which I believed you sorted with some better quality glue.
However my valve amp kicks out a lot of heat and I noticed at last rehearsal it was causing the covering to bubble up a little. This is by no means a moan more so I just wanted to make you aware of it. Can you maybe recommend a heatproof mat or similar to separate the head from the cab?
I noticed on the owners group on Facebook people were talking about vibrations from the cab wearing valves out quicker. Whilst I haven’t noticed excessive vibration maybe some sort of a mat could serve a dual purpose. Let me know what you think

Hi Alex and all at Barefaced, absolutely loving the cab so far! Played a couple of festivals so far this summer and my on stage sound has never been better. I’ve done a few social media posts about my new rig, and have been fairly active on Talkbass pimping out Barefaced.

I love my Four10! I have an Ashdown CTM100 head and an older Aguilar AG500 SC head and much to my surprise, the Aguilar sounds far better run through the Four10 than any other cab. It is also louder! I hate to admit it but is sounds better than the Ashdown which I originally bought to replace it. Now I'll have to keep both!
Thank you for such a superb cab!

I gigged last Saturday with the Orange amp & Four10 only and got several remarks about the bass being very clearly heard in the mix, although not too loud. That's a good compliment in its own right, and I think this is precisely the strength of this Four 10 cab :o)

Hi Alex, just wanted to let you know I am totally enamoured of the Four10 and frankly none of my (embarrassingly too many) other cabs are getting a look in. The Four 10 is a natural fit with each of my four tube heads, it has its own character which is just what I hear in my head for my more r'n'b/blues style of playing, but it also still lets the nuances of each different head come through. Despite the delivery mix up I am very happy with the metal grill and will stick with that in the future. I have just replied to my fourth private message on Talkbass about it, so seem to be an unofficial ambassador for the Four 10. I hope it is transferring into sales for you. I am still contemplating getting a 12 ohm Two 10 to place on top, although I have yet to get close to the limits of the Four 10. If I do so I would probably get a four ohm crossover sent at the same time in case I ended up using it more as a single cab - how much does a backplate/crossover cost?
Many thanks,
Tim Walton
